Hi Wendy WA was my first choice went on a reckie last October and fell in love with the place, it's a lot more expensive cost of living wise but a amazing place having said that the more research I have done on SA it's certainly the place for me :) I am still waiting on TRA results and now judging by others timelines I should get it with a week to spare fingers crossed, but if it takes 8 weeks to get SA SS it's going to leave me with 3 days to lodge the visa before July changes come in!! Very stressed at the mo but I am plodding on trying to keep a step in front

Helene,

Great attitude... Stay one step ahead all the way! If it is any consolation,my OH got his TRA back after only 13 days! The timelines that are aet are guidelines, they do surprise the odd one or four people at a time! Good luck, fingers crossed for you guys!

I was checking mine this morning and the page now has this on it,so if your wanting to apply ,you need to get on with it.

ATTENTION ALL APPLICANTS

Deadline for Sponsorship Applications - 2 May 2011

Under current Points Test

To enable all applicants sufficient time to lodge their visa applications with DIAC under the current Points Test, Immigration SA will require all complete applications to be received before 5pm Monday 2 May 2011.

This means that all online sponsorship applications AND supporting documents must be submitted to and registered by Immigration SA before 5 pm Monday 2 May 2011.

The Online Application System will be shut off at 5pm Adelaide local time on Monday 2 May 2011.

Any applications/documents received after the 5pm on the 2 May 2011 will not be processed.

Please note that very effort will be made to finalise applications received by the deadline before 1 July 2011 to enable applicants to lodge visa application with DIAC under the current Points Test. Check the Online Tracking System for results which will be posted as soon as a decision is made on the application.

All applications will be processed in order of receipt of complete applications, subject to the volume of applications, Immigration SA cannot guarantee that all applications will be finalised before 1 July 2011.

Note also that PLANNING LEVELS exist for all occupations on the current State Sponsored Migration List, once the planning level has been reached, the occupation will no longer be available for sponsorship and applications already submitted (and registered) will not proceed.

You will need to lodge your visa application with DIAC before 1 July 2011 or your visa application will be assessed against the new Points Test and criteria.

Once details of South Australia's Sponsorship criteria for 2011-2012 have been finalised, the Online Application system will be re-instated. Monitor this website for updated information.

What I don't understand is why they are freezing the whole sponsorship application process. We knew we wouldn't make the july deadline as the skills assessment takes 12 weeks but my OH makes the new points if he does well in the IELTS. However now it looks like we won't be able to apply for sponsorship at all until "details of South Australia's Sponsorship criteria for 2011-2012 have been finalised", whatever that means. Is it the list with next years visa quota's? I have a bad feeling about this last time the process was frozen it came back with us having to start again from scratch. :realmad:

I'm in the same position as you - still no skills assessment after nearly 8 weeks. I have managed to get it prioiritised but if they don't email me a poisitive skills assessment next Wednesday (they have an extra bank holiday on Tuesday) the documents won't get to SA SS in time !!

I am also lucky as will get in under the new points system but will my job be on the list !! And we have to wait until 1st July to apply for SA SS again !! Oh joy !!

Hey Vicky,

I have just read your post, we applied for SS nearly 8 weeks ago and then 2 weeks ago my husbands occupations was removed from the list (guttted!) so we are going ahead and applying for the skilled visa in May (once OH has 3 yrs work exp) we were hoping to then re-apply for SA SS although we have been told by our agent that under the new rules they are unable to attach a SS visa to a skilled one. hmmmmmm!

Guest Big Bob

HI All

I have applied for ACS skilled assessment ICT Security Specialist last month.... I am sure as per website quota is full for ICT Security Specialist but just want to check that if I apply for sponsorship for SA now(quota is full)...Do I have any chance getting sponsorship in off list criteria using my old assessment which was ANZSCO 261399 (Network Security)? or If I apply to SA sponsorship now even with my new assessment (will it automatically roll to next year quota since this years quota is full?

Thanks

Big Bob
