Dear Members,

I have applied for SS for 190 permanent for South Australia on 7th July 2012. Now, I have applied for student visa application for Masters degree 2 years full time from The University of Melbourne, on 11th July 2012 also, whose decision would be out in, may be 10 days.

Now, if i am granted student visa, and also receive SS in 2 months, since I fulfill the points test.

Can I apply for 190 subclass after SS from South Australia, in probably October 2012, even when I may be on student visa in Melbourne ?

Although I am committed to work and live in SA, however, I cannot compromise with the best university - The University of Melbourne untill June 2014, if I am granted a student visa...

Please guide,

Hi. I don't see a problem with it. You can be in or outside australia when applying for a 190 visa, and allowed to be on any substantive visa if in Australia at time of application.

From what I hear the first round of SkillSelect invitations went out last week, so it may not be long before you are invited.

Dear Katrina,

So what you are saying is that I can apply for visa application with DIAC probably in October 2012 for 190 subclass under SS from South Australia, even on Student visa in Melbourne.

Please let me know how DIAC would take the obligation, of working and living in SA, for at least 2 years, even it might not be possible for me to live and work in SA until June 2014, because I might be on student visa in Melbourne.

However, I can arrive in Adelaide every 3-6 months, from Melbourne, if required.

It's my ultimate wish to live and prosper in growing SA, which has tremendous potential in coming years, but I believe pursuing best education at Master's Level in Sciences from The University of Melbourne, would add value to SA community.

It would be pleasure, if you can support on my concern,

Thanks and regards

Hi. Sorry, I can't answer your further questions - maybe you should contact Migration SA if you can't find it on their website, or get the assistance of a Migration Agent.
