Hi Matt

From experience of every part of the visa process, they can never see too much information! If it's relatively easy to lay your hands on your GCSE certificates etc as well as your CV, then I would send all of it.

We have no direct experience of vetasess as John was asessed via the TRA.

Good luck!

Hi Deena

Thanks for that we will send everything.

Can I just ask are you taking your cats with you? We have a 10 year old labrador dog who is very slow now and struggles with the heat and im in such a dilema of what would be best for him.

Hi Matt & Suzi

We sure are taking them with us! Amber and Max are my babies and I couldn't go without them! Amber is also 10 and has a bit of arthritis but I think she will cope, Max is still a baby - not yet two so he should be fine. As for the heat, well my cats love nothing better than laying in the sun so Oz should be a dream come true for them!

I am worried about putting them through the flight and quarantine but I am assured by people that they will be ok.

I suppose you have to do what's best for your dog, speak to your vet and the specialist pet shipping companys (like Jets4Pets), I am sure they will be able to give you some more advice.

Hi Matt

My hubbie did VETASSESS. He had to send GCSE, A-level and Degree certificates. For the degree aspect he also had to obtain transcripts which set out the percentages for each subject.

I think that he also had job references and a Stat Dec (instead of a ref from his current employer) for this part. We got lucky too in that he didn't have to get a ref from his current employer in the end, the Stat Dec was enough.

Let me know if you have any queries - the paperwork is still to hand until the movers come in on 14 May!

Hi Bex

When you said he had job references were they from previous employers, we were wondering at what point they were going to ask for job references, he hasnt told his employers yet about Oz

Hi Matt & Suzie

Yeh, the job refs were from all previous employers - we drafted them and got them to simply sign them, fortunately Nick's only had a few jobs since leaving Uni so it wasn't too difficult to track people down. We drafted them to include as much info as possible too - you need to include dates of employment, starting and current salary, no. of days holiday along with details of duties at work.

As for the Stat Dec re his current job, he drafted that too to avoid asking for a reference. We were told that a "real" reference may be requested later down the line but in fact it wasn't. We used an agent and they sorted the VETASSESS stuff out but they asked for all the job refs, stat dec & certificates all at the same time so I assume that the job/skills refs were all used then.

VETASSESS only assess the qualifications, so you no not need to send the job ref's. I have just got my approval from them, and only send qualifications, ie O & A Levels, Degree, which must include grades and subjects studied for the degree.

Vetassess do now do an online submission, which I used, you still have to send hard certified copies of passport, photo's and qualifications, but no job ref's. There job is only to assess your qualification meets with Australian qualifications.

cheers

Ian
