How to introduce yourself.......

I am keen to introduce myself to a few companies who specialise in what I have been doing for the last 15 years, not ideal but hey would pay the bills to start with. The companies are building companies specialising in repairs to existing buildings.

What I'm keen to learn is how I should introduce myself to before hopefully meeting with them in September.

Phone?

Letter?

Email?

Thanks

Simon

Hi Simon, been there myself albeit many years ago. My plan was to get 20 copies of my CV, and then send then out with a short letter of introduction to random companies I found in the Saturday Advertiser. I had a phone call 2 days later from the MD of one company and an interview the following day. My working life in Australia had started.

My advice. BE BOLD and just take a punt.

This is pretty much how my OH got his current job, although he works in IT rather than the building trade. He phoned one of the senior bosses and basically said I'm here in Adelaide, I've been working in this area of IT for the last ten years and thought we may be able to help each other. Or something along those lines. If you are in Adelaide I'd phone otherwise I would email. Make sure you find out who the senior people are and contact them directly. Just sending a dear sir type email really isn't going to work in this kind of circumstance. Good luck.
