Not it sure how old or what budget you are on but there's lots of youth hostels in the city including the Y h a cheaper if you become a member and all sorts of people stay in them

Try airbnb.com - you can search by 'private room' or 'entire place' - if not, try gumtree, but imagine airbnb is best for short term.

It's actually for my husband to stay for a month while we secure more permanent accommodation. I will be arriving with the kids a month after. We don't want all the hassle of house hunting with small kids. Anything from 150 - 200 is ok for him.

Will check on airbnb.
