Stopover at Singapore

We have a 20 hour stopover at changi and were going to book the transit hotel. The price quoted for a room with a double and single bed is $115 Singapore which is just under $100 Aussie dollars fora6 hour block! This seems expensive especially when you book 2 x 6 hour blocks. Is this the going rate or am I looking at the wrong place? Travelling from terminal 3

cheers

hi this is probably about right it's not the cheapest hotel but it is by far the most convenient as you don't have to collect bags or clear customs etc. triple rooms are also more than a standard double. if you are booking it through the Singapore transit hotel website or clicking on the link through the changi airport website then u r in the right place. if you weren't keen on this then perhaps look at 1 x 6 hour block and then the transit lounge for the rest of the time for free food and drinks etc. alternatively you can book a 1 night stopover though the Singapore airlines website with transfers in and out of the city and these are usually pretty cheap as Singapore airlines subsidises them. hope this helps

Are you booking 2 rooms for 6 hours each or 1 triple room for 12 hours?

If the latter, then according to the website a triple room for 6 hours is $115.35, then S16.48 per extra hour, so 12 hours would be $214. Would you really need it for 12 hours? Last time we came through Singapore we booked rooms for 9 hours ($164) which gave us 8 hours sleep plus extra time for a shower etc. In reality we got an extra half hour anyway. There is so much to do at Singapore airport that you don't want to spend too long stuck in a room. If you have 5 hours to spare you can go on a free sightseeing tour of Singapore whilst you are in transit http://www.changiairport.com/in-transit

Even though the transit hotel may seem expensive, we have used it twice and reckon it is worth every penny!
