We too chose to buy a property in Glenelg North and love the place. We can walk it to the gym, bars, restaurants, shops, seafront. It is just the best place to live. Never had any problems parking. Just imagine a fantastic unspoilt small seaside resort with a marina and that is Glenelg. It has a number of good schools and although expensive for rentals and to buy you get what you pay for. It is a short tram ride into the the city (10km) and the road link into the city is never too busy. You can run, cycle, walk along the lovely coastline going north all the way to Largs Bay without much traffic and south you can get to the next lovely seaside area called Brighton. We are runners and members of a fantastic running club here in Glenelg, and we have friends who play football are differing levels in teams all around here. We are also keen cyclists and have just got involved with a great cycling group based in Glenelg. If want any help with advice/rentals etc etc just shout. Good luck I know we are biased because we live here but to be honest, you wont go wrong with Glenelg.

Hi, Due the purchase of a new bike my other bike is no longer needed. It is a Specialised Epic Road Bike with top of the range kit on it. Granted it is not brand new but the extras on it are worth over $400 which include ultegra group setting and it has recently been serviced. It would suit somebody from 5ft 8 to 6ft tall. Just thought I would update you, I just go an e-mail from Case Officer to apologies profusely had sent the wrong info, no need to do Medicals, said he had got his fact wrong - was a new guy!!! I am relieved but speechless at the way official departments get things wrong! Oh well at least I can calm down now I don't need to spend $600 extra. So if anyone else gets in this same situation hope this helps- medicals are NOT required unless you spent time out of Australia. Cheers

Well, I just phoned Brisbane got throught to my case officer said if Medicals are over 12 months old need to re-do them!! I do not understand this as everyone who applies for 887 will have had their Medicals completed in UK more than 12 months previously. I really don't think we have a choice though as he said it was every visa that needed Medicals again if out of date!

Hi Zootz We applied on line couldn't bypass the Medical Health check section so just input we had them completed in 2008 in UK. Surely they would know this when going from 475 to 887 that you have had them completed. The annoying thing is can't get to talk to anyone to ask why? Oh well will try and contact them to find out.

No absolutely nothing has changed and Medicals in UK were all clear. Neither of us have any Medical conditions. Just so frustrating if have to pay out more money! We applied on 20/03 for 887. Also need to do Police Checks. Cheers

Hi Can anyone help, just applied last week for 887 visa, currently on 475. We got a Case Officer today and they have sent letter stating that we have to complete medicals again. We had medicals completed when getting our 475 visa has anyone else had to re-do the medicals? Not happy as $300 each!! tried to ring but can't get through to Brisbane. Cheers Jan
