Hi Cassie. I have not arrived in Adelaide yet we fly on the 28 Jan. I have 4 boys age 8,6,4 and 1. I am a Yorkshire lass too I come from Leeds. Hopefully we could meet up when I settle. Hope your enjoying Adelaide.

We have had a change of plan and we now need a furnished rental from 30/01/12 to 25/02/12. We have already booked with Tamara (Homes down under) starting 25 Feb. We are a family of 6. If anyone knows of anywhere we would be greatfull. Thanks

I know exactly what you mean. I keep toying with the idea of organising a get together/workshop advising people on cover letter and resume writing (I used to teach this) as there are people missing out on great opportunities because their resumes are not being presented in the right way or containing the right information, but to be honest something holds me back. Like you said, I have visions of giving up my time one evening or on a weekend and people saying they will come along and want help and then sitting there on my own thinking why did I bother!

I think that is a great idea. I would be up for it but don't arrive till Feb.

we exchanging contracts this week so once that done we can book flights - don't want to book holiday rental till booked flights - so just been looking around at the holiday rentals - trouble is we need a 4 bed at least for us and there is not that many around!! I looked at car hire today....nearly had a heart attack on the prices for a 8 seater hire car lol so need to buy a car as soon as really hence the thread!! Just hope some wise people on here can advise!! we moving out of our house 2nd week in dec and staying with family till we all leave...exciting but rather scary too!!

We have been staying with relatives for a while now and i feel like im loosing my identity. We wanted one last christmas with the relatives so booked everything for Feb but to be honest wish i hadnt bothered just want to be there and get my life back on track. My boys are 8,6,4 and 1. We are lucky that they are still young enough to share for a while but will be looking for a 4 bedroomed house when we arrive. Have a look at Argus car hire and car hire 3000 we have found them the cheapest.

We have booked with Tamara (homes down under) for the first 8 weeks at Port Noarlunga we leave on Feb 23rd. Not too sure where we want to be will all depend on work, schools ect but quite like Aldinga but i have to get a feel for a place lol. When do you leave and have you sorted anywhere yet.

We are in the same predicament. So would be very interested in any replies. would rather buy new than second hand. We are heading over Feb as well.

Does anyone know of a 3 bed rental available in Hallett Cove. We have just landed and are staying with friends in North Haven but really want to move out to Hallett and get our kids enrolled at school. Any info would be great.

Londongirl, Im not there yet but sometimes i get down thinking of leaving my older children/grandchildren behind. I know that it will be very hard when we get there and i will no doubt want to come home after 2 weeks. I also know that will give Australia a fair go. i will be lonely when OH gets a job and im at home with the kids but they wont be little for long and im sure i will find something to fill my days. We dont arrive till Feb but if you want to meet anytime then give me a shout but you will be the one cheering me up lol. I hate to think of you stuggling send me a pm and we can sort something out. Hope it gets better soon. Janice.

We did just that 3 years ago. We flew with our then 7, 5, 2 & baby. I thought it was going to be hell but Singapore Airlines were fab. The best thing we did was booking the transit hotel. If for nothing else it gave us somewhere to stash all our hand luggage while we explored the airport. Hope your journey will be as stress free as ours.
