  1. 489 visa holders are not eligible for medicare. The positive side is they don't need to pay the medicare levy at the end of financial year. Once applied 887 visa you are eligible for medicare, they will issue the interim card with the full benefit as like other Australian people have it however it is valid only for 1 year. If you don't get visa decision in 1 year then they extend the period until the decision made for 887 visa application. The down side is now you have to pay the medicare levy regardless you use it or not. Nothing is free in Australia, specifically the "health system".
  2. The bank statements, payslips and vehicle rego will be enough proof to show your residency. As long as these documents have the first 10 months address on it there will be no problem. You can also show the address proof with a combination of these three documents, example as first three months bank statements, next 6 months payslips etc. The negative side is that the case officer need to check more documents and so take little bit extra time. Make sure you do the certified copy and then upload to the online system. Only 10 people are working for 887 visa and they are getting applications from all over the Australia. I guess out of 10, 2 or 3 people are/will go on the holiday or take the work off so the rest working people are 6 to 7 and that too 9 am to 4 pm working hours Monday to Friday including the break. Now, if there are no required documents or provided less or more documents available or have the all documents but the case offer couldn't identify in these cases I guess they even don't want to look at it and request the same or further documents. I have seen so many posts here about requesting the document which has already uploaded on to the system. Make sure you write the appropriate name of the file when you upload to the system so that the case offer can identify it properly. Good Luck.
  3. Congratulations.... Just a quick a question, your ielts is the same that you submitted for 489 OR it's a recent one ?
  4. As your PCC has already expired I suggest you provide the new PCC to DIBP. If it has not expired then it would be fine (they will not ask for 13 days stay to another country unless you stay more than 12 months). Good Luck.
  5. I suggest to all people who are waiting for their 887 visa to be grant, please read the below information. They have explained really well in terms of " 2 years residency and 1 year work requirement." https://imminews.com.au/2017/02/23/from-a-489-to-a-887-visa/ Hope this will help to all of you to more understand about DIBP requirements for 887 visa. Good Luck.
  6. I hope you have submitted all the documents. Might be you will get direct grant. Have a look at below link it has valuable information about 887 visa. https://imminews.com.au/2017/02/23/from-a-489-to-a-887-visa/ Good Luck.
  7. Many Congratulation! Such a long journey...
  8. yes, its true, they should apply these rules on new migrants. I guess they will only allow the Australian Citizen for their opinion. It's all about politics as the Government is now facing problem due jobs crises and so load is increased on benefits scheme. I agree with "nottysaint" about the Centrelink point. As far as English concern, then anyone has or will be completed Australian education or continue engaging with skilled jobs will be excluded from English requirement at the time citizenship as per my understanding. Also, I guess they will strengthen the residency requirements, particularly for new migrants. Let's see how they come up.
  9. your answer is here, follow this link: https://www.border.gov.au/about/corporate/information/faqs/how-can-i-prove-i-have-functional-english go through the each point and submit the appropriate document if you have one.
  10. Hi Munawer, you have lots of questions! I suggest to consult with an immigration agent/lawyer as each question associated with rules and regulations. If you missed something to provide based on your visa conditions that you are apply, there are high chances that your application will be delayed. As people already said in this forum, go through the checklist of 887 and upload as much document as you can at time of launching the application or with in 10 working day after you have launched. here are the few answers: - statutory declaration will be fine (subject to case officer as you are giving them only one document for 2 years staying, moreover 2 years resident is a major criteria for 887 visa). I suggest consult to agent for this question if you want to speed up your case once you launch. - review the 887 visa check list for police clearance: you will get the answer there. - you will be granted a bridging visa. your 489 visa continues until a decision made for 887 visas. For more information, go to immigration website, search with bridging visas and you will find detail information. - for health, its completely depend upon the cases such as your country of birth, any past medical history (you and your family) that they aware about it etc... - look at the form 1193 instruction and compare with your situation, you will find the answer. Good Luck.
  11. one more thing I forget to mention is that whenever health comes into the assessment, there are chances to delay in the processing. the reason I can see behind is that there is specific people who can review the health results and inform to co accordingly. After, co need to decide according to the rules and regulations to grant visa or not. only way I can see to increase the faster process in this situation is to follow up with them and try to know where they are up to on your case. Additionally, you can tell them compassionate reason if you have one (this is the perfect one in my opinion). in you case you have been waiting for long time, they will work and issue a grant notification soon. Good Luck.
  12. follow this link - http://www.border.gov.au/about/contact/provide-feedback you can also find related information from your granted Australian visas. I hope you currently hold a 489, look at the first two pages and you will get the information.
  13. I can understand that you have been waiting for a long time. I can say you are not far to getting a grant. If there was something required or missing, co might ask you with the medical. Since there is no any request other than the medical, I can say you will get your result soon. have you submitted all your work and residency related documents properly(payslips, tax, contract offers etc.) ? Best Wishes.
  14. Be specific with the documents when co asked. I don't recommend to send any other documents apart from what co has asked as it just increased work load for them to go through the other documents that they haven't asked for. Again, make it easy for them if you want to grant earlier. Be specific with the visa conditions and apply relevant documents as much as you can at the time of application launched. I suggest to follow the co direction once they have reviewed your case unless you want to oppose them which could cause delay into processing. what I have found is that the biggest problem in 887 visa is calculation of worked hours due to part-time, full-time and casual work. It is really hard time for co when they don't find the relevant documents, specifically for self-employed and taxi driver occupations and this is because just a condition: completion of 12 months full-time work (35 hrs/wk).
  15. Hi, a co already assigned to you. He/She might have looked at your file by now. If certified docs required they have asked you by now. As long as you have other documents that CLEARLY validates you worked genuinely for 12 months, there should be no problem. When the situation come to find out the more information from your salary slips which they couldn't find from other docs, then they might ask for that to just verify. Remember, 887 visas have two main important conditions: 2 years of living & 12 months of FULL-TIME (35 hr/wk) work completion in any field. They have to closely look at these two conditions in order to grant the 887 visa. So, if you have any other documents that prove that you worked 35 hours/wk for 12 months, in that case I don't recommend to go and certify the 30 pages of your payslips. Good Luck.
