Response I received for my email ..... For visa subclass 489 you are only required to pay local fees which varies depending on the school, however it is around $450 if in a government school. School card information (which supports the payment of school fees) can be found athttps://www.sa.gov.au/topics/education-and-learning/financial-help-scholarships-and-grants/school-card-scheme Your children will be able to enrol in a school within the zone of your residence.

Thanks for your response.. no where in my post have I mentioned I expect education to be free. I have read in a few forums earlier about SA charging the same fee in public schools as for PR holders. So my question was if that is true or have you all be paying much higher than that. Hope that is clear now

Hi all, I know this is the most irrelevant post on this thread but couldn't find anyone more appropriate that you all who have spent 2 years in Adelaide to answer this. While on 489, do we have to pay higher school fees compared to the PR holders? Is there any email id I can drop an email to confirm this ?

And is this only for the functional English part of assessment or applies to the primary applicant s Pte results as well

When was the validity of IELTS reduced to 12 months. Is PTE also the same?

Hi, am new to this forum. Can someone help me with a clarification. If a family is on 489, is it necessary for all members to fulfil the 2 years stay in regional area criteria to be eligible for 887. Alternatively, will it be OK for just one of the applicant to live and work in the regional area and rest of them staying in the home country and while applying for 887 adding the others as dependents and ensure all of them in the 887 application are present at the lodgement. Sorry if this is a repetition of question
