Yes 90% of the answers starts with 'depends' . To stay in the safe side always make up your overseas stay before applying. In the immigration handbook they allowed short holidays but they didn't define how long is a short holiday. Note that the case officer will never ask you to make up those days, it is straight forward he will check your stay in the first place to check eligibility for PR before looking at the rest of the documents. In my case I stayed for two years and I went for 2 trips oversea (6 weeks each). I was working during those trips and have payslips, and I was paying my rent and electricity bills.. Cheers

Finally my ride came to an end, and received my grant 24-04-17 1st application submitted 06-08-17 application rejected due to not completing 730 days in Australia, my original stay 640 days out of my two years 10-08-17 2nd application submitted 06-11-17 request for wife's functional English and new born medical check. HAP ID was not activated, email was sent to homeaffairs email. 09-01-18 CO replied back to my email with HAP ID activation letter 12-02-18 PR granted During the 3 correspondents my CO was Adam. Hi Raed, Accompanying family members are your kids who are immigrated with you and currently live in Australia. Non-accompanying family members are your kids who are immigrated with you and NOT in Australia at the time of application. Other Family members are your parents and sibling. Good Luck!

Yeah they do that more often, if they see that you been home even for a short period during the 2 years they do ask for it. I know how it looks like to start counting again. Never mind, now the wait should be shorter .. it will be additional 42 days from the CO appearance date. good luck.

Yes everything, almost two years of permanent work contract, 2 years tenancy agreement, electricity bills etc. in the first year I traveled for a period of 6 weeks, and the 2nd years I traveled for 6 weeks as well. The officer comments that this does not considers a short holiday. The case officer has access to my travel dates and he listed the dates I was in and out from Australia.

I had the same issue as well, my first application was rejected as I only stayed for 640 days when I applied. There is no definition for short holiday, each case officer has a different understanding for short holiday. My recommendation is to compensate the days before applying!

Hi Raed, 60 per applicant or application is a huge number of attachments, always combine similar documents into one, for example, payslips over the years combine them into one, same apply for electricity bills, bank statements ..etc

if your 489 visa still valid you dont want to do that, you can just travel with it, this is only applicable if your 489 is expired and your bridging A visa came into effect, then you need to apply for bridging B visa

Hi Nish, the best way to track this is through this forum, you can see now the case officers are working around mid Sep. but that doesn't mean it will take an additional month, sometimes they process faster than that. good luck
