We (my brother and myself) emigrated here a couple of years ago and whilst we have met some great people we don't have many single friends to socialise with. Are there any other early 30-ish singletons (male and female) out there looking for opportunities to make friends and enjoy a few beers etc?

Can anyone please provide me with an email address/phone number for Adelaide Skilled Processing Centre that actually works??!! I have emailed the aspc.processing@immi .gov.au but got an automated reply saying that I had to send the email to a specific department. I hhowever can't find any other email address to sent it to! I have also spent the last 3 weeks on the phone trying to get through. I thought I had finally cracked it today when I did got through - only to be cut off mid-way through the conversation. Any contacts you can provide would be hugely appreciated.

Can anyone please advise re: the 'full time' 12 month work requirement that is attached to the SIR 495 visa. I emigrated to South Australia 6 months ago and am employed as a junior primary teacher. My contract states that my position is a 'full time' position (and I get to work at 7.30am and leave at 5pm,) however, my big problem is that my pay slips only pay me for 27 and a half hours a week as I am only paid for 'contact time' with the kids. To qualify for permanent residency, immi.gov.au states that any employment will not be classed as 'full time' if it is below 30 hours per week. Will immigration accept that I have been working 'full time' even though my pay slips contradict this! Thanks for any advance in advice.

We are arriving in Adelaide on 18th August and are looking into rental accommodation. We are considering the on arrival accommodation but was wondering what it was like e.g., locations, facilities, cleanliness, air conditioning!!. Can anyone share experiences - good or bad!! Many thanks.

Hi I am new to all this and this is my first post so sorry in advance if i am going over old ground! We are due to fly on 18th Aug to Adelaide on an SIR visa. We are both primary teachers (early years specialists) and was wondering what the demand is like at the moment for teachers. We understand that we have to do a child protection and first aid course but are there any other requirements before we can teach?? Also what is the best way to secure employment - is it a case of applying to newspaper vacancies or is there much demand for supply teachers to allow us to 'get a foot in the door'? Many thanks in advance for any advice.
