Nishara, You only have two options now : Please see if you can request an exemption again if not done and try for a ticket to come back before your 489 expires and you can use your bridging visa. If that is not an option, you'll have to wait for your 887 grant.

People stuck overseas and waiting for a grant need not worry, your visa will be granted even if you are offshore now due to covid. I have seen information related to it on my visa grant notice quoting instructions on how to travel to Aus now

The 887 visa processing time has again changed now from 11-17 months to 23-24 months.

Has anyone got their PRs recently after Sep?

I think they have paused the grants. I have been waiting from August after providing additional documents. The processing time on the IMMI account was 10-15 month till Nov 18th and now it has changed to 12-17 months. waiting patiently as we have nothing to do to expedite it.

Hello All, I have applied for 887 in Dec 2019, CO contacted in July 2020 and additional documents submitted immediately in Aug 2020 and still waiting for the grants. Can anyone tell me the approximate time frame of approvals after submitting the additional documents

Hi, Yes i have applied for exemption to travel as i had a document from my employer.I am not sure about the concession..i assume they are looking into it but not decided on implementing. Me and my wife were also stuck from Mar 2020 to Sep and then finally returned in the 1st week of sep. My lawyer said the application was decision ready and as we were overseas they have not granted the visa. Now that we are back, we sent them an email about our return. Not sure, how many days would it take from now

our application is decision ready and as we are back in Australia, communicated the same to the immigration. How many days would it take for them to check the email and issue the grants? Can anyone who has gone through this phase help me with the info plzz

You can live and work in any location in regional Australia..does not matter with 2 locations but please have all the documents related to your living and work

Congratulations for those who received the grants. I have applied in Dec 2019, CO requested for functional English in July 2020..submitted immediately and no response yet. Not sure how they look into the applications. Anyone has any update/info on how long would it take for the grant after the contact from CO ?

As per my knowledge, one of you who has satisfied the conditions can start applying for 887 irrespective of primary/secondary applicant and with respect to the days overseas, you will be given 4 weeks of exemption in an year which is not considered. If you are worried about it, to be on a safer side, please wait for an other month and apply for it. Meanwhile you can keep everything ready and apply the next day you satisfy the requirement

please renew your passport as soon as possible and update it with the immigration, should not be a problem. I assume they will contact you while taking a decision on your application to get back with current valid passport. Please seek suggestions from others as well

I lodged it in mid Dec2019. Co Wendy asked for 1 yr employment proof and functional english on 24th July, we submitted the docs on 19th Aug. yes, stuck in India from March
