  1. Hello mates, I am sharing about my grant time line. Applied - 29/06/18 Request for further document - 13/08/19, CO Sophorn Granted - 15/03/20, CO Wendy I almost gave up receiving the grant until this May, which my 489 expires and get out of country postcode to get a better job. However, I got the letter yesterday, Sunday, so weird. Are they working at home even on Sunday???? for Corona Virus??? Anyway, I nearly got a cancer or maybe already developed in me for this long, long waiting. Nothing has got any better but only BIT of COMFORT from the fact that I don't have to wait for the grant anymore. It's not going to be fantasy or heaven, no no for me it's just out of hell, once I have got my visa. Anyhow, I do hope you guys get yours soon too really!! Best wishes, Joshua
  2. ⁸ Ok I see your points. But, have you ever tried doing legal action against them? So what are your suggestions? It's easy to say 'oh this is not a good idea, this is not going to work blah blah blah...' Are you 100 percent sure we will not going to win??? You basically speak the same as the department, 'JUST WAIT' from my view. What about this? https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2017/jun/14/government-to-pay-damages-to-manus-island-detainees-in-class-action
  3. This is exactly what I thought!!! I am here keen to join this action. Hope we have web forum or community other than this. It's hard to communicate with it.
  4. Hello mates, I am 29/06/18 applicant and haven't got grant letter yet. They once asked further documents Aug/19 and uploaded completely then waiting forever now... I complained through immi website several times already and was told "wait coz mine is WITHIN processing time". When I lodged a complaint last month because now I have been waiting more than 19 month and they replied me back as below, The processing time information gives an indication of the time it will likely take to finalise 75 to 90 of applications. Processing times are impacted each month by changes in application volumes, seasonal peaks, complex cases, and incomplete applications. Applications are assessed on a case-by-case basis. I can advise that your application remains under assessment, however I cannot advise when it will be finalised. The Department may contact you if further documents are required, or if a decision is made on the application. From my understanding, there are 10% of all cases which are classified as "complex cases" and never know when to be finalised. I haven't replied back but I am going to ask if there is timeline for those 10% complex cases and any person in their department e.g. manager or supervisor or whoever can resolve my cases. Do you have any opinion or advice for me please? I am desperate to end this journey...please... Is there anyone who waited way longer than others? How did you get yours? Thanks, Josh
  5. Hi Stella, The waiting seems never ending to me. I don't wanna believe there is anorher year of waiting to get FTB. It is absolutely absurd. Anyway, did your spouse, dependant applicant get functional ielts? I had outdated information and did not ask my wife to take the exam again leading to Co's request for it. Anyhow, they asked other stuff though; reupload lease agreent as it was wet and bit smudged. Have a check everything again and again and again if you want a direct grant. Best wishes for yours and mine hooooooopefully we get ours before Xmas... Regards, Josh
  6. Hi Stella, I do agree with those points you made. I was thinking maybe we can ask for compensation for this prolonged waiting. It is obviously discrimination as other applicants had got their visas much earlier like less than a year paying the same or less assessment fee. There is no reasonable justification why they extend the processing time. Anyway, as refugees sued and won against Australia government, we can do something not only lodging complaints but do some legal action to have a return back for our time, energy and commitment against the government. I want to meet a solicitor or lawyer or whoever who can help us. By the way, how is your visa going? Not mine yet since last June.
  7. Hi congratulations and thanks for sharing your case with us. One question I had is did they ask for your wife's functional English?? Thanks, Josh
  8. Hello there, I received first notice from CO today asking for further documents; especially spouse's functional English. I uploaded previous one when I first applied for 489 visa and the CO said it is expired because she took it in 2015. As far as I know, I can submit the one when I did with 489 visa can't I??? Is there anybody who had the same issue with me? I don't know she can take the exam and get the mark at a time and if she can't, it will be long, long waiting again and lots of money! Nightmare!!!. Her English isn't very good as she's always been looking after 3 kids at home. Does she have to take the test to get the mark??? (4.5 overall, no below 4.0???) Thanks in advance guys, Josh
  9. Hello mates on a same boat to 887 visa. I lodged my application for 887 June 2018. I have been desperately waiting for the decision like you guys and have financial issue because most jobs in my area are out of regional postcodes. I live in Gold Coast. I have a few job offers from out of rural worrying it might be affecting my visa decision. I am still with 489 visa so I cannot work out of regional areas theoretically. I do not know if they crosscheck with ATOs when they assess my visa. I have already worked and lived in regional areas for more than 2 years, but just really really fed up with waiting and see how they work; it is extremely frustrating to see they grant visas for the last two weeks! Almost nothing! I have lodged complaints and emailed several times to tell our situation as well as to raise attention with no use. Could you guys let me know if you ever worked in out of designated postcodes after lodging 887 visa and got a grant after all? Me and my family might starve to death before grant if they keep delaying grant... Thanks in advance,
