  1. Hi, we have submitted the same letter for 489, though wife sat the ielts then and submitted that one as well, so honestly I can't be sure now if there is something wrong with the letter. It should have been accepted but when CO requests it and decided not to give a direct grant there's really nothing we can do. It's the risk we took and crossed our fingers too, so a little bit of regret there. Wife could've just sit the test and we could've got the grant now.
  2. well... that should be enough, but it's still in the hand of the "almighty CO"
  3. but there are a lot of family application that are getting direct grants, basing on the spreadsheet. It's more like a game of luck. the COs are playing God over us.
  4. I have received the below reply for my complaint. Hopefully they do something about it. I have rang them too, but no luck. just a normal agent trying to sugar coat the situation as i told her maybe they just don't want to give the visa to hold us in the regional area. She said "don't take it like that..blah blah blah.. maybe the CO just didnt get a clear copy so just reupload...etc.." she didn't ask for any reference so i dont think my call mattered. Anyhow we just booked an IELTS anyway just to get things going.
  5. Hi, the letter didn’t indicate exactly how many years is the course but they have indicated her attendance to and from year. And it’s a bachelor’s degree. yes she is working
  6. @Charpel887 hi I don’t think it has something to do with the country we’re from, but to answer your question it’s from the Philippines. Ielts has to be within 12 months meaning they will accept it if its at most 12 months before you lodge the 887 cant be older than that.
  7. We submitted letter and transcript with certificate of completion but still no go. How about you when did you receive the request and what was initially submitted?
  8. We actually didn’t get away without it last time. We submitted the letter but wife still took ielts. But she didnt retake it because of the cost and knowing the letter and transcript is enough why bother with the cost and the time. It BS really. We will wait first how they will go with the complain and i will ring them tomorrow too..
  9. Yeah letter from uni stated instructions was all in English. Uploaded the transcript and certificate of completion with it. We are in Mackay. Closest IELTS is in rockhampton
  10. We submitted Letter and transcript of conpleted course.
  11. @jaknap3 Yes i raised a complaint, let's see how we go. i also tried ringing them but was told to call another number for general information 131 881
  12. hi TTTF, I have raised a complaint online. resubmitted the documents including the expired ielts. I have renamed the file though, "Functional english as per legislation". not sure if my use of term legislation is right but maybe it'll work. but as per @Dee tough luck! while waiting we will be booking an ielts as well, 4 hours drive or a plane ticket fare is nothing compared to the pain of an endless wait... i hope others get some good news today. i still feel better now than no contact at all.
  13. NO PTE either. wife actually tried to get assessment from Australian Adult Migrant English Program from CQU which is free for 489 holders but when she inquired our 489 is about to expire and will be in BVA in a week. they didn't accept her and said she has good english and it's only for those who are having a hard time with the language. they sent her an email explaining that so we uploaded a copy of that email as well. We uploaded her letter from uni back home and school records showing it's a 4 year course. but yeah CO Regina didn't accept all of that.
  14. Yeah but what can we do but to comply. our problem now is there is no ielts here. we need to travel 4 hrs by drive or by plane, because they keep us in regional area where everything is inaccessible..
  15. Thanks but yeah so frustrating as what we have submitted should be enough to prove functional english but still they want to ask for more just to delay grant.
  16. congrats!! if only we have IELTS for wife uploaded too, we could have had the grant as well...
  17. shame they don't have test center where we are.
  18. Just got a CO Regina! requesting for functional english IELTS. she did not accept letter from university which was submitted before in 489. previous IELTS was expired which I didnt't upload. I will try to ask if she will accept that. Any suggestion for exam to take equivalent to ielts? cause living in a regional area, it's not easy to get ielts nearby, any suggestion for other tests that can be taken? thanks
  19. I would like to post grant.. but there's none..
  20. you just applied so you can just forget about your application for a while then get back to stressing after a year. hahahah I didn't worry too much until i passed a year still with no contact. and when people close to my date start getting their grants, i got excited and really assumed we will get our grant soon but then the grant stopped.
