  1. I got my 887 application granted yesterday. Applied: May 2014 Team 13: July 2014 Team 10: October 2014 Grant: July 2015 Wish you all the best, especially for those who are waiting for long time.
  2. You are right; there are some degree of uncertainty, which makes this venture not viable.
  3. Thanks for your thought. I am currently on 475 visa which will expire on May 2015. If I withdraw my 887 application, should I not be returned to 475?
  4. I am raising an open question to all applicants who are waiting long due to ESC. From the current trend we can see that 887 process is much faster now due to some policy amendments. They are not putting all the applications from Bangladesh, Pakistan, Iran, etc., to detailed ESC, which was a normal practice previously. Applicants from June 2014 are being granted withing 4-6 months. More interestingly, applications from and afterward November are being finalised within more shorter period of time (less than 2 months). That implies that if some one applies now s/he would get his PR with 4-6 weeks. This time would become lesser over time from now on. My question is, what about if I withdraw my application (I am waiting for more than 8 months) and apply again? What are the possibilities? I have figured out couple of those as: 1. DIBP will process my application according to new timeframe and policy. So, I will get PR within 2 months. 2. DIBP will send my case to ESC again on the basis of previous application history. Do you have any idea on this situation?
  5. Let me tell you a story about a Bangladeshi who got his PR in last November after waiting about 19 months. He has a family of four. After waiting more than one and a half year with several email communication with the department he became really pissed-off and thought about contacting the department directly. In October they went to department and demanded to meet someone who can explain whats going on with their application. A nice lady met with them and told them that she will followup their case. One week later, they saw the women in a Coles store. They rushed to her and ask her if she can recon them. She was a really nice lady and told them that she had not forgotten them and assured them again that she would definitely look in to their case. On the next day, they got a call from the lady. She told them that she was about to deliver them a good news, however there was a technical problem. She talked to their case officer and the case officer told her that their application could be granted now, but one of their child's passport was just about to expire. So, the family jumped in to renew the passport of their child. The passport was renewed within a week. They contacted with the case officer and bingo! They got their PR next day. So, I would suggest you to go to the department and talk to a responsible person. Don't return back with the vague words from the persons working at reception.
  6. Yes, current observation supports your analysis. But, I would like to amend the date from '1 July 2014' to '1 June 2014'.
  7. 1. Enroll with Centrelink 2. Inform your employer about your residency status 3. You have to stay at least one year as PR to apply for citizenship
  8. Applied in May 2014, CO assigned on 21/10/2014 and waiting to finish the routine check.
  9. Good news for Iranian applicants. Mate, you have nothing to do but wait. Better, forget about the whole 887 thing and concentrate on other stuffs that you need to do for your life. I don't believe that PR is the ultimate goal. Yes, without being PR we are facing problems in daily life and cannot plan ahead. However, it is not stopping you to perform and plan for lot of other things that is important for your life. Eventually you will be a PR today or tomorrow, just a matter of time. So, why bleeding yourself thinking about it so intensely. By the way, I also have applied in May 2014.
  10. Congratulation! Enjoy your freedom. Apparently it looks like all Bangladeshis and Pakistanis applied from June 2014 are passing through the gate. On the contrary, the applicants before June 2014 are not that fortunate and obviously caught by external security check. What a disparity!
  11. I feel your pain. According to the statistics you are on the eve of the grant.
