Dear chief minister, First of all congratulations for the remarkable victory in the 2020 election.Your proactive thinking and great leadership keeping us safe during this pandemic environment. If it was someone else Territory would have been in a great danger.Thank you for taking a stance and defending the people of NT in a drastic pressurized situation. Wish Victoria had the same wisdom and leadership to prevent the loss of life happening right now. I came to Territory from Sri Lanka in 2017 under a 489 visa which is considered as a Temporary resident and I chose NT because I saw the territory had a great potential and love the outdoors.I'm living in Darwin from 2017 and working for........................, Howard Springs.After 2 years in November 2019 I applied for 887 Visa and till today my application is still in processing. Home affairs take 20 months to assess that I lived and worked in Territory but would grant PR for an offshore applicant within 6 months.Even in the pandemic where Australian borders are closed and not granting any Tourist,189& 190 visa timeline for 887 skilled regional visas is 20 months. This is completely unfair and against the Australian values we uphold. As a temporary resident I won't get any support from the Home affairs or other Federal office in this pandemic environment. My application to become a resident is in the backlog and sitting in it for 10 months and I tried to contact the visa office, Home affairs but got no response.Only a generic reply stating 20 months timeline. My ref with Home affairs is ---------------------- and application date 20 November 2019. Highly appreciate if you can help me to send this message across to Home affairs officials.

Finally ... wait is over Applied : 20th November 2019 First Contact: 25th June 2020 for my 10 month old baby's medical Today got a call from Theresa around 11am to verify DOB,Work and passport no. Received the grant now. Thanks all.This forum was really helpful P.S - Complained twice about the slow processing using the immi account and send a detailed email to chief minister of NT week back. CM office call me back on Tuesday and Migration NT submit a submission to DOHA on 9th September 2020. I don't know whether the submission worked or not but I received the grant just now. Any suggestion on getting the CCS no and registering with Centralink ?

Received the following correspondence from Chief Minister office. Thank you for writing to the Chief Minister the Hon. Michael Gunner MLA to raise your concerns in relation to the delays with the processing of subclass 887 visa applications. This has been passed on to us for response. The Northern Territory Government understands the importance of providing our skilled overseas workers and their families with the security of long-term residency, and acknowledges the anxiety you are feeling over your pending visa application. As you would understand, the administration of visa applications is the responsibility of the Australian Government through the Department of Home Affairs and the Territory Government has limited capacity to intervene in these matters. This department has made submissions to the Department of Home Affairs to advocate for faster processing times for subclass 887 visa applications. Thank you again for taking the time to write to the Chief Minister, and we wish you the best.

They contact me on 25th June 2020 for my daughters medical, she is 8 months. Did the medical and form 1229. waiting for the grant from June 2020. what about you mate ? did you receive your grant?
