  1. All the replies were almost the same that I had to wait and that it was out of DIBP's hand until ESC was concluded. As mentioned earlier I wanted to make sure that all the avenues are exhausted.
  2. Thank you. Well, no one really knows if inquiries with the application really help however I was trying to get in touch with the DIBP via email and GSM Brisbane phone as much as sounded reasonable. I personally couldn't just sit and wait the department to contact me so I did whatever possible to get any update.
  3. All, After 11 months and 5 days, today I am pleased to let you know that the PR is granted. In addition to the information provided in the signature I communicated with several officials ranging from Local federal MP to assistant immigration minister none of which apparently helped until the ESC was cleared. I wish everyone awaiting decision, a speedy grant letter.
  4. It is classic, isn't it. we are both sharing the same timeline. What a hopeless way to process applications. It is as unfair as it could get.
  5. Short answer is yes you CAN. Full time or part time or a combination of more than one part time job (35+ hours a week in total) is accepted and it can be any kind of job as long as tax is paid. I guess by "CASUAL" you mean that the job is not in your area of profession or the skill that your visa was granted on that basis in the first place.
  6. When you call Brisbane Number recently there is an automated answer which has to be listened to, before an operator attends the call and to be fair they are really helpful however it is a fact that no one would expect them to make the final call on the application and grant the visa.
  7. Sorry the number is for Brisbane. Yes I did call them 10 days ago and got the typical answer of sit tight and wait for the department to call you. what is your timeline?
  8. This is my timeline: 475 to 887--- Application Date: 22 Aug 2014---Team 10 Request: 12 Nov 2014 No Team 13 Request so far---Referred to ESC: 23 Nov 2014---Grant ??? Did you call Brisbane GSM number? 03 3136 7000
  9. Until your current provisional visa 489 expires you won't be able to relocate to places that are not included in your visa condition so the answer is NO. If your existing visa ceases before 887 is granted you need to follow conditions on your bridging visa which in most cases does not have any condition.
  10. 887 is not a point based visa application therefore IELTS is not a requirements. Having said that, functional English (IELTS 4.5) is required for all dependent aged over 18 at the time of 887 application and that is to include family members who have turned 18 recently. main and secondary applicant fulfill this requirement by default. main applicant for 475/489 must have had at least IELTS 6 and second applicant for 475/489 either had functional English or had paid a fee for English language.
  11. If you are asking that the primary and secondary applicants can be swapped for 887 application the answer is YES. provided that the wanna be primary applicant for 887 satisfies the 1 year full time work and 2 years residency conditions. Other than that there is no reason that the order of applicants can't be changed.
  12. Congratulations tbzz . all the best with your PR. Can you please let me know the timeline of the process.i.e when was the last time you were contacted to provide docs or info?
  13. That is true. the recorded message indicates that if an outcome wasn't available by 1st of August then contact immigration for follow up. In fact the number of visas that has been issued after 1st of July shows that immigration is trying to address all pending cases from 2013/2014. I myself am hoping that my case be finalized in coming weeks. Lets hope for the best.
  14. This answer is typical even days before the case is finalized. My friend who got his PR yesterday, had called Brisbane number just a week ago and was told that his case hadn't come back from external checks. You can also lodge a complaint to IGIS to see if external checks on your application have been cleared. Generally these inquiries are for information purposes only and unfortunately there is not much that can be done by the applicant to accelerate the process apart from providing documents as required.
