I can fully recommend attending any UK meet ups. We are still friends with a number of families that we met at one of these meet ups nearly 6 years ago.

Hello everyone (and hello again to some who I've already come across on other threads lol!!)

I'm Mandi & I thort I'd drop a post on this thread as my partner Leigh & I are also planning the move to Adelaide Sept/Oct this year & we cannot wait!

I'm 36yrs old, from Yorkshire originally & I'm a staff nurse (oncology & haematology) & Leigh is 41 & an electrician. We currently live & work just outside Lincoln & we're just finishing renovating our property ready to rent out, then we'll make a start with the actual move! We've been twice before & loved it enough to make sure that the next time we go back we're staying!! Got the 190 PR visa granted in Nov '12 & I'm just about to send off for my registration with AHPRA.

In the meantime I'm on here as much as I can doing lots of research, gathering tips, advice & ideas etc. &...getting lost!...allot! (still a forum newbie!).

 

So, how are you all getting on so far? I'd love to hear how you are progressing with your plans, all good I hope. Anyone started looking at quotes for shipping yet? I thinl that will be our next steps. We're taking EVERYTHING, maybe including one or both cars, but still working out if it's worth it yet.

 

I did try to make it to the meet up in Jan, but I was in the middle of a stretch of nights & with the roads been bad didn't want to take the risk. But I do hope there will be more to come!!
