Hi, I am moving to adelaide (from sydney) in march with my partner. Im pregnant and due in May. Just wanted to see if anyone has any advice on the public hospital I should go with and also how to go about meeting friends (aged 20-35+), im 29 years old, love socialising, going to the beach, eating out etc, also i will be looking to join baby and mother groups... any advice would be great. I will be living in Glenelg. Thank you :) Michelle Brandwood.

hi michelle, exciting news :) you are most likely to go flinders hospital. i cant say much about it as i am a little closer to the city than glenelg and went to women and childrens both times, who were amaizng. My sister in law and a friend have both had their kids at flinders and would recommend it. Once the babys born, you will get a visit from child and youth help and they should give you some information on some mothers groups in your area with babys around the same age as yours. hope this helps any other questions just pm me :) alex

Hi Alex, Thats great thank you. I will make an appointment with Flinders if they are the closest. Hopefully I will be informed on the baby groups when my baby is born...

Hey michelle.

i had my little one at womens and children's which is the public hospital just on the out skirts of the CBD. they were great. i guess where your planning on living is key to the hospital you choose really.

Im looking for new people to meet up with as i need a bigger network of friends. if your interested when you get here please pm me. i have a 1 yr old.

Flinders would be nearer to Glenelg for sure... although im sure you have this sorted by now!!!

There is another thread which has been put up from Helen (Pixie7) who is a mum to be who lives in Hallett Cove (not far from Glenelg)... check it out...

& Gemma is lovely so she would be good to meet up with :-)

Congratulations by the way :-)

Hi Michelle I had my baby boy at flinders 6 months ago they were brilliant and great lactation clinic if your thinking of feeding yourself.. If your a first time mum the child health will probebly put you in touch with a mums group especially for first time mums and local playgroups..congratulations
