Need someone in UK to certify driver licence

Hi,

 

I am visiting the UK until Christmas and have a need for an Aus-registered teacher, doctor, judge, JP, lawyer, chartered accountant or similarly highly venerated profession, to certify my SA driver's licence. Simply, that means they have to look at me, my driver's licence and a photocopy thereof, and sign the photocopy to the effect that that really is me. You would also have to record your Australian professional registration details.

 

Are you, or somebody you know, currently in the UK Midlands and able to do that for me? The nearer to Northamptonshire the better. I am unable to get to London to the embassy during the week, and I need this doing quite quickly.

 

If you can do this for me, feel free to PM me. My wife (Cazzie on this forum) and I will meet you in a public place of your choosing and either buy you coffee and cake, or present you with a bottle of South Aussie wine from Tesco or similar for your trouble.

I took mine into the local solicitors office last week and they photocopied it and certified it for £5. You don't even have to be a client so any solicitor should do it.

Thanks Eliza. My requirements are more specific, in that I am in the UK now, and the person signing (who of course must also be in the UK) must be registered in certain occupations in Australia. They won't accept anything less in my case.

So the lawyer in australia and the lawyers here are not the same?

 

They accepted them for me for the skills assessment.

This is different. It's to access part of my Australian Super as an income stream (rubs hands with glee) and it's really specific (see below):

Any documents certified by aperson who is licensed or registered to practise in an occupationlisted above in a foreign country (and not in Australia), or whoholds a position in a foreign country, will not be accepted byUniSuper (except for a foreign notary public).
