Work conditions after applying for Visa 887

Dear members,

I am going through a strage situation with work rights in Australia for my wife who is a dependant.

I have submitted my 887 in March.

My partner, who has enough work experience as me in IT , took a break from work to settle down here in Australia, has recently started applying for jobs matching her profile. While recruiters here doesn't really know/care any other visa but PR/Citizen, she has not been considred for almost 90% matching jobs.

My question is, does work rights change when we apply for 887. Example, there are some Posttal codes in NSW and QLD where 489 cannot work legally. Do they still apply for 489 even after completing 2 yrs living and working in Australia?

Please help as she is loosing hope to apply for jobs.

Thank you

If she is still on 489 then she can only work on the jobs posted in regional sites. Once she has 887 visa then she can apply to any job site in Australia.
