Short term accommodation

Recommended Posts

We are hoping to come to Adelaide for a month in March to have a good look at the area, we are wondering if anyone can recommend any decent hotels, motels etc. in the suburbs or any other ideas for accommodation. We are a retired couple and not to interested in being in the centre. Many thanks. C. N.

Hi,

There are many furnished rental homes spread throughout Adelaide that may offer better value for money than a hotel. They are fully equipped as "homes from home". Areas would range from the Hills regions, beachside suburbs or city and surrounds depending upon your needs.

I live in Port Noarlunga which is a seaside suburb about 30 minutes from the city. The Mclarenvale wine region is only a few minutes away.

Check web sites like home and away or Century 21 web site as they offer fully furnished short term accommodation where you can be independent and do your own cooking and washing. You can review comments by previous customers.

Good luck. There are many musical festivals in March like Womad show casing folk music from around the world, Fringe festival and writers festival so many things to do in March

When we moved here we chose a place that had been around for a while, had great reviews and the owner had spent a lot of money getting their property ready. When we looked around comparing places it was obvious that some places looked and sounded dodgy.

It's a good idea to have a look to see if the rental business has a licence, an Australian Business Number ( check it here http://abr.business.gov.au/) and whether they can be bothered to spend the money on a website. If they can't be arsed and are out for a quick buck you could get stung. The ATO (Australian Taxation Office) has a good link for rental property owners https://www.ato.gov.au/General/Property/Residential-rental-properties/
