Hi. Have you tried Richmond Retreat? - adelaidefullyfurnishedrentals.com.au. We stayed there for a month on our arrival in Adelaide in November. I can recommend it, good location for getting into the city (10 mins) and it's pretty near where your looking for. The owners Charmaine & Richard were very helpful. I don't know about availability for the dates your looking for but it's worth checking out.

Hello Di, We're in a similar situation to yourselves having arrived in Adelaide at the beginning of November. Lesley and I are living near King William Road so we're probably not too far from you. We're loving it up to now, I'm already pretty sure we made the right choice in Adelaide, it's a great city. Hi we have a load of boxes left over as our container arrived on xmas eve. We're in the Goodwood area so if your interested let me know otherwise I was just gonna take them to the recycle depot.

We stayed aTara's guest house, it was very very good, huge room and the owners were lovely. It was the number 1 guest house in Sydney when we went, but that was 3 years ago. There was a bus stop round the corner and it took about 20 mins to get to the harbour, depending on traffic. Amazing breakfasts and they picked us up from the airport. I'd check it out, don't even know if it's still there!

I don't know if any of you are interested (I sure am!) but the Arctic Monkeys have just announced their Oz tour, they're on at the Entertainment Centre on Saturday 10th May. Tickets go on sale 11th December. Tres excited!

Hi folks, I'm Dean, Lesley and I arrived here on the 3rd. Everything's rosy so far! Lesley started work on Monday, could have done with a bit longer to get climatised but its a good job so all good! I've started making enquiries, I'm a pipe fitter/welder but don't realistically expect to find work until after Xmas. Lesley has to go to Melbourne with work on Sunday till Tuesday (and Hong Kong in a few weeks). Were 42 and 40, I'm wondering if anyone would like to meet for a few drinks on Sunday afternoon,I'm gonna be at a bit of a loose end. We're in Richmond at the moment in a short term let till we find somewhere else so if anybody fancies a few pints in the city or nearby (Glenelg, maybe?) let me know, it'd be nice to meet some peeps.

Hi Folks, I'm sure I remember reading on here a while ago about a decent reliable car rental company who would drop a car off for you and pick it up when you were finished with it. I've been searching older threads but can't find anything. Does anybody know anything about this? If not, any other recommendations would be appreciated! Arriving in Adelaide on the 3rd of November.

Hi everyone. Wel its been a log old slog but eventually we're emigrating to Adelaide on the 2nd of November. We havent booked the flights yet but will be in the next few days. We've had our visa for 3 years but for one reason and another we haven't been in a position to make the move. But we are now! We did come over 3 years ago to validate our visas and met a few people from P.I.A. but that seems a long time ago now! So although I do realise that this question gets asked almost daily but if anyone knows of a short term rental available on the 2nd of November for 4 weeks I'd very much appreciate any help. I'm just in the process of e-mailing a few places off Stayz.com etc but i thought it's worth asking on here. I got my visa through my trade, I'm a pipefitter/welder here mostly working on commercial and industrial heating and air conditioning installations but I've installed most types of pipework over the years. I'm sorting my CV out this week to email to as many company's and agency's as i can find, also I'm getting in touch with TAFE to see how i go about getting my welding tickets when I arrive. I was kinda hoping I might get work on the new Royal Adelaide hospital. Anybody working on that project? We've got Anglo Pacific coming on Friday to go through the shipping of all our belongings (anyone dealt with them?) I'm sure I'll have a million other queries over the coming months,but it's very exciting! Cheers in advance. Dean and Lesley.

Hello there! For now we live in a village called Bishop Middleham in County Durham, I don't suppose anybody's heard of it. But we've just had our visa's approved and are visiting Adelaide on 23rd of Feb for 11 nights. It's just a recce and to get our passports stamped. Should be moving to Adelaide as soon as we dare! Any advice, opinions etc would be greatly appreciated. Could even meet for a pint while we're there! Dean and Lesley.

Hi Phil, We're only coming over for a recce and to get our passports stamped in February. Reallistically I don't think we'll be moving over until next year. We're hoping the housing market will pick up over here and hopefully the exchange rate will get better (fingers crossed on that one!). We'll be in Adelaide on the 23rd of Feb, we're spending a couple of days in Sydney first. Only got 11 nights in Adelaide, would have liked to have stayed longer but I suspect we're gonna need all our pennies for the move! It'd be nice if we could meet some of the people from this forum while we're there, so let me know if you hear anything. Dean and Lesley
