  1. 887 Visa - What's the update?

Hi Sharky, It seems your daughter has been processed and you might get a mail from home affairs within the week. Some people have reported that the email sometimes delays by a day or two. Be checking your junk mail as well....you might not know. To be 100% certain, you can verify your daughter's visa grant using https://online.immi.gov.au/evo/firstParty?actionType=query You could use your Transaction Reference Number which is the same for every member of your family. Cheers...
  2. 887 Visa - What's the update?

Hi there, There shouldn't be any problem if you apply for 887 on or after 26-01-2019. After fulfilling the 887 visa conditions of course.

Hi, hoangdekiem, I presume you did FBI checks when applying for your 489 visa and you haven't been back to USA after moving to Australia. If that is the case, then you don't need another FBI report. Your USA character check was sorted out during your 489 visa application. You would have needed another one if you had gone back to the USA and stayed there for 6 months (maybe 12 months) or more.

Don't panic, Bunny. AFP expires after a year. Raz's case might be peculiar
  5. 887 Visa - What's the update?

Yes I got Medicare immediately after applying for 887. Just print out your bridging visas and submit them plus your passports to a Medicare processing centre in person. I suggest you take your whole family along since all applicants over 18 will be required to sign. It takes less than half hour for you to be processed. They give you immediate Medicare printouts that you can use right away. You receive the hard cards by post in about 2 weeks.

Hi Sharky, Read my earlier comment on your question. Since your daughter was born onshore, you did the right thing by posting the required docs. I assume you added Form 1022. However 489 visas for new borns onshore are processed in Adelaide. I went through what you're going through last year. And it's free. Cheers
  7. 887 Visa - What's the update?

Hi Sharky, I had a similar problem last Septermer when I posted my new born daughter's document to Brisbane because I'm in regional Queensland. I called DIBP after 4 weeks of no response and a very nice gentleman assisted me. He advised me that 489 is processed by the team in Adelaide SA. If you send your docs to any other city, they'd have to forward them to Adelaide to be processed and this can take ages. I therefore printed a new set of documents (I had retained soft copies), added a cover letter explaining my situation and addressed the letter to: GSM Team 10 (489 visa processing office) DIBP ( Now Home Affairs) GPO Box 2399 Adelaide SA 5001 I tracked my letter which was delivered to them the following day. 7 days after delivery, tadaa.....489 was issued to my daughter and we applied for 887 that same day and got medicare the following day. There's no time to waste😀😀😀

I'm confused here.....Are we talking about 30 November or 31'December? Cos there's nothing like 31 November
  9. 887 Visa - What's the update?

Hi there aug17, Only COs can generate HAP IDs for new born babies. There is no option for organizing a health assessment for new born babies under the 887 application
  10. 887 Visa - What's the update?

Hello Vinodh, you have approximately 3 months between when you plan to lodge your application and when you're expecting your baby. If you lodge all required documents correctly and are lucky enough to get a direct grant, you might be on PR before your baby is born. You can then claim citizenship for your baby after he/she is born. It might get complicated if your baby is born after lodging but before a decision is made. You will require the advise of someone who has been in that specific situation before or you might have to consult an immigration expert.

Sorry about the incorrect info on Adelaide not being a regional area. If Adelaide will help you meet the 489 conditions then go for it. Another option worth thinking about.....I presume you've already lived in TAZ for more than a year. You might as well live there for 2 years before moving to Adelaide, thereby fulfilling your 2-year commitment to TAZ and at the same time meeting the 2 years regional living condition of the 489. As soon as you work for one year in a full time position or 2 part time positions in Adelaide, you can apply for the 887. You don't have to live for another 2 years in Adelaide, having met that condition in TAZ.
