Hi all, Would just like to thank everyone for their replies however I would also like to appologize to everyone as I should have replied to this thread at the time. The original message I posted was back in March 2010 and we were granted out 175 Visa on 22nd June 2010 (our 3rd wedding anniversary) so it took just under 3 months. Hi, We rented Tyke's place in Seaford Rise in February this year and can highly recommend it. A really nice house, not too far from the beach at Moana and the shops at Seaford Rise Shopping Centre are just up the road as well. It's a two storey modern building with 3 bedrooms, although there isn't a pool, the beach isn't too far away. As Tamara said Tyke's a really decent bloke who is very helpful and can give you alot of very useful information about the local area and Adelaide as well. Cheers Scott

Got that book from an Oz Expo at Aintree a few years ago. Very useful information however I think it was published in about 2007 so probably needs an update now. Cheers Scott

Hi, Has a date or location been decided for this meet up in the South? We're doing a recce in Adelaide from 12th Feb to 22nd Feb. Unfortunately we'll miss the next meet in Oct/Nov but hopefully there'll be one in the middle of Feb next year as that's when we're in Adelaide to validate our Visa and do a recce Scott & Claudette

OMG!!! Just checked our Visa application status on the DIAC website and found that our 175 Visa has been granted and not only that, it was on 22nd June which was our 3rd Wedding Anniversary... result Scott

Hi Adeel, Well, our application for a 175 Visa was submitted to DIAC on 5th Feb 2010 and they sent a request for Meds and Police checks to our Visa agent on 23rd March so it was roughly 6/7 weeks. Cheers Scott

From what I've read, if you've already submitted your Visa application then it does NOT include you. Hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong. We're in a similar position as yourselves except we're waiting to send off our Police certificates. Scott

Hi guys, Thanks for the replies. We had our medicals last week and the results have now been passed to the DIAC. Posted the Police Certificate application forms today, they say it should be about 10 working days for the Certificates to be sent to us. Once I get them back, I'll forward them onto our Visa agent. So I guess it's then just a case of waiting for the DIAC to make a decision. Scott

Hi all, We've just received our forms for the Police and Medical checks from the DIAC. What I'd like to know from people who have gone through this process, how long after the checks have been sent back to Oz is the Visa likely to be granted, assuming the checks are ok of course. Cheers Scott

Hi, We got our 175 application submitted to the DIAC on 5th Feb so just beat the deadline although whether that turns out to be a good thing or not in the long run, we'll just have to wait and see. Scott

Hi Greg, We went to Sydney and Adelaide for our honeymoon in June and July 2007. The OH has family in Largs North, not far from Semaphore as well as Elizabeth and Salisbury Heights. We managed to look around some of the suburbs whilst we were there so got some idea of which were nice and which to avoid. Not decided where we are going to go as it's still early days yet but if I have any questions I'll be sure to ask. Up the Saints :-) Cheers Scott

Hi We used a Nationwide debit card whilst in Adelaide last year as they don't charge. Plenty of cash machines around so didn't need to take much cash with us. Cheers Scott
