    887 Visa - What's the update?

To extend the processing times (from 8-10 to 12-14 and now to 15-16 months) without reason or justification is a serious abuse (of authority and discretion). They cannot change the rules of the game (as regards waiting period) in the middle of the game. That's unfair! They should always bear in mind that their service Charter, like the Australian Public Service Values, are intended to facilitate the delivery of service to those whom it is due without unnecessary expense and waste of time, for truly, fairness delayed is fairness denied.

    887 Visa - What's the update?

Qui tacet consentire videtur, it means he who is silent is understood to consent. Silence means consent. I agree with Raed. The details and conditions expressly stated/written on the grant of bridging visa (from 489) should be the authoritative information. In our case if nobody complains about our predicament, then it must be understood that we're not bothered by counting the (agonising and seemingly endless) days until our 887 grants arrive.

    887 Visa - What's the update?

Good morning Mine too, these docs are showing "recommended" for uploading. I did not upload them because I think they are not relevant to my case. Cheers

    887 Visa - What's the update?

No worries @Gracee. You'll be all right, and we'll be alright. After you've submitted your application, you can still submit further or additional evidence of residence for the period that you've claimed or that you've met/complied with. In my case, I was asked to submit more evidence such as property title/deeds, leases and utility bills (phone, gas, electricity, internet that show your residential address) and official correspondence (from Medicare, ATO, Insurance companies, VicRoads vehicle registration and drivers licence).

    887 Visa - What's the update?

I too was asking myself why do they want to 'resurrect' and to know the details of those family members who have passed on & resting in peace. I'm not sure... do you think it's possible to have a kid or a spouse/partner stated or declared as "non-accompanying family member"?

    887 Visa - What's the update?

Good morning comrade I also had my mum (together with other members of my family) as "non-accompanying member of family unit" mainly because of the instruction to provide details of ALL family including those who are non-accompanying and those deceased family members.

    887 Visa - What's the update?

No worries @Gracee... as long as it is not in ALL-CAPS. I find it a bit better (and readable without eyeglasses) from the standard form or font size.

Congratulations @RGM This is a great news. Slowly, but surely (and hopefully), the queue is moving.

@Applied 10/01 We are happy for you mate. @Russki Those Irish with ninja sh*t and ninja moves, I am amused. Could someone with a kind heart or a gentle hero (incognito) answer @MPK's question? Thanks.

    887 Visa - What's the update?

Hi @Capboy I'm sharing with you what I did (based on my experience). Employment Reference Letter You could get it right after leaving work OR at the time you are about to submit your 887 application. The letter must be dated. You can find all the necessary and important informations (that must appear in the letter) in the immi website https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/skilled-regional-887#HowTo I was forthright and candid with my employer. Before I started to work as housekeeper, cleaner, room attendant, kitchen helper, waiter, dishwasher (and every hard-labouring job you can find in the business establishment except being a cook because I don't cook), I've told them that I would be needing an employment reference letter for my immigration visa application. If you need to (just like what I've done, but with their consent, of course), write the employment reference yourself and after you have made them signed the letter, give them a copy. Establishing a good rapport is the key. Our 489 is only here temporarily, and in the greater scheme of things, aren't we all?

    887 Visa - What's the update?

AN OPEN LETTER 1st February 2019 Dear Case Officers (and Department of Home Affairs) How are you doing? I hope you are doing well and not heavily burdened with piled-up documents and files. My visa application will be turning one year old tomorrow and to mark its first anniversary, I am writing this love letter. When I submitted my application, I have practically offered you a key to my life-story and in naked (truth) opened my inner self to you. I also have virtually given you an arrow to pierce my heart (and soul) so you could have a look at my most intimate and personal details of my life. From the abyss of my nothingness, I hope you find the person who truly loves your grace and charm that please my eyes, where your awe-inspiring beauty pierces my heart so much that it tries to penetrate in the realm of love and phantasm. How long must I wait? How much (more) should I endure? "As fair art thou my bonnie lass, so deep in love am I; And I will love you still my dear till all the seas gang dry; Till all the seas gang dry my dear and the rocks melt wi' the sun; I will love thee still my dear while the sands of life shall run. And fare thee weel, my only love and fare thee weel, a while! And I will come again my love, though it were ten thousand mile." With deep respect and affection 02 Feb 2018

    887 Visa - What's the update?

Be very careful mates, and heads up! A quote from Ziad K. Abdelnour who once said "Always remember... Rumours are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots."
