  1. https://www.australiavisa.com/immigration-news/from-a-489-to-a-887-visa/ This article might answer your question. I lodged my 887 with 2 years and 3 days since my grant of 489. I took 23 days ( 3 weeks 2 days) vacation each year. If you went overseas more than 4 weeks a year, then you should make up for the time you are overseas. For example, if first year, you are overseas 6 weeks and second year, you took 2 weeks. I think you still have to make up 2 weeks for the first year. Read more in the article. Anyone who read this, please correct me if i'm wrong. Many thanks.
  2. What happened mate? If you have your 489 visa granted at least 22/2/2016, and your application date for 887 is 22/2/2018. And if you are NOT travel overseas or outside of your regional area for more than 4 weeks each year, you are still eligible for the residency requirements. Correct me if I'm wrong. Or what happened?
  3. Hi guys, I lodged my application end of November. Is it a good time now to provide updated AFP check? Normally if they come to assess my application, say, early November, would they request for updated AFP?
  4. Hi mate, may I ask what did you submit for the employment proof in the initial lodgement? I'm just curious to know why they asked for further employer letter. Thanks mate.
  5. Yeah, I think what they said to you makes some sense. 4 weeks a year should be ok, I'll do a check with them anyway. Another thing, for the police check, during the visit back to my home country, I went to Thailand (first year) and Taiwan (second year), but only for a short period less than 5 days. Do you know if they will ask for police check for those 2 countries? As my visa to those country only visitor visa.
  6. Hi SUDIP, Did the Immi confirm with you that during the 2 years residency, we can travel overseas no more than 4 weeks each year (annual leave period)? Thanks
  7. Thanks dar8 for reply to my questions. I think it would be pretty hard for my employer to get back to more than 2 years ago and reissue payslips. I know your suggestion is the safest way to secure a direct grant. But do you think all the group certificate, notice of tax assessment and superannuation statement already proves my employment? I will ask him anyway. And also I've got my detailed timesheet with recorded hours for every jobs that I did. Does anyone here already get contacted to submit payslips when you already submit the others? Are COs strictly asking for payslips in most cases? Does it need to be the whole full year payslips or I can provide partial, like 2-3 months or so. Many thanks
  8. Hi guys, I've been looking for an active forum and discussions on visa 887 and came across this. Hope you guys can help me out :D I've applied for 887 on 25.11.18 from the granted 489 (family sponsored) on 22.11.16. During the period of 2 years, I traveled overseas for less than 4 weeks each year (23 days each year to be exact). I have been living with my uncle since 2011 till now. I share the bill with him and also the rent by bank transfer or cash, not in any formal records. I've worked for a small business (engineering consultant) since 2015 till now. I have a few questions regarding my application: 1. Did I meet the residency requirement length of stay? I've been researching before I lodged my application and some agents said that as long as its less than 4 week per one trip (per year), I should not be worried about this. But some people in other forums says I have to make up the period I was away. This one got me scared the most as today I just surf the web and this question was brought up again and there's no real experience answer that I can find :( What are your experience? 2. Because I don't have any formal records to support my rent. What I've submitted to prove my residency status was: - A statutory declaration from my uncle and be witnessed and signed by a Justice of Peace, stating that I have been living with him since 2011 till now. - My car registration (with number plate shown) with a LINKT (the toll road company) statement for the whole 2 years period. Because I've traveled on Eastlink toll road on daily basis, and the statement lists all my trip history. - Credit card statement, Bank statement for the 2 years with all my payments made within my designated areas. 3. For work requirement, because my company is a small business, we don't really issue formal payslips or contracts. What I've submitted was: - Group certificates, Notice of Tax assessment, My individual superannuation account statement (with employers contribution shown) - Employer's reference letter with signature from my boss and stating the full time hours per week along with my roles at the company Do you guys think my application was good to go and is there anything that you would suggest me to provide as additional documents? Many thanks!
