  1. Thanks so much for very helpful advice. Our present feeling is that we need to " get on with it" It is always going to be a calculated risk. A combination of savings and some extra borrowed capital should keep us going for 5-6 months until we have hopefully secured some employment. We have budgeted about $4000 per month for outgoings.
  2. Hi All, We are trying to decide if it would be better to get a move on and fly to Adelaide in October/November this year or move in the new year. I have read mixed reports about the labour market. I am concerned that Adelaide might be "closed for business" from a recruitment and employment point of view in November and December. Is this urban myth? I am a community nurse and my husband is a IT project/service delivery manager. any advice appreciated.
  3. Hi All, I have recently sent my AHPRA paperwork of to Adelaide for processing. I am now seeing requirement for nursing and midwifery board NMB registration on job adverts on the SA. au.gov website. Is NMB the same registration as AHPRA? The websites for AHPRA and NBA are very similar. Not sure if I have to register with both as a registered nurse. Apologies if this a very stupid question.... My mental capacity is currently under challenge by the process of EMIGRATION ! Thanks:wacko:
  4. Hi Mandi, Me mark and the girls would love to meet up. The last one we went to near Leeds was good fun and great to make contact with other flitters! Share info etc.. we are in Sheffield, so just let us know when and where. C x
  5. Thanks for advice Lebour. Just to be patient i have decided. When you say cost of $100,000 over 5 years, cost to who? did not understand that part of you message.
  6. Hi all, I am waiting for medical clearance for my little one who has urinary reflux and has had urine infections in past. We have been given a v positive report from her paediatrician who plans to discharge her this year as she has not had any problems for nearly 2 yrs now and will just need BP checks now and then in the future. Does anyone have any knowledge of what medical conditions restrict visa applications and which are judged as being a ok to migrate? Logically I think that my little one will not be a drain on medical resources and is v unlikely to need hospital care so may be seen as low risk. But am whittling about this..
  7. hi you guys, Yes we are interested. Somewhere near M62/ Manchester good for us. hope you 3 are all well xx
  8. Hi Mandi, My friend has just got hers through in about 5 months, she said that she was "on it" though, kept in close contact with AHPRA re progress so any glitches with paperwork can be quickly resolved. Also, i asked ANMAC to send all my documentation to AHPRA Adelaide, then there is less for me to send to them as ANMAC and AHPRA require many of the same documents. I had to chase ANMAC a bit to do this though, but they were v helpful. See you soon. chloe x
  9. Thanks you guys, Yes i have lodged application to DIAC and i have been allocated a case officer. I have got copy of my EOI. Think it is likely that i will have to resubmit my EOI and SS. Waiting for response from case officer. difficult talking to him during night with time difference, and on hold for AGES. Feeling pretty fed up and despondent with the whole thing today. Never mind will have to push on and see what they come back with. This process requires considerable patience and determination. ...
  10. i knew it was all going too smoothly... My expression of interest for SS south Australia went through fine Early January. This week we have been contacted by the case officer who states that on our EOI application we stated that i had " community language" qualification and skills which would entitle me to 5 more points and total of 65. I am a district nurse with no other language qualifications in a second language i could use for translation purposes. I would have to be very foolish to state that i do, as any skills stated have to be evidenced in detail with scanned documentation etc... My husband does not remember making any mistake on the EOI form and looking at the site again it would be difficult to make this error because it requires you to go into a secondary "other" menu to enter this data. Also I would be eligible for the required 60 points anyway with my own qualifications, state sponsorship and skills so why would i pretend to have more? I can only think that there must be a glitch on the new system. Am v reluctant to resubmit EOI if this may happen again. Any advice PIA community would be gratefully received....

  18. Hello all, Just to let you know that i have contacted Mandi at the Midland hotel today to give her an idea of numbers for Sunday. They have reserved some space for us. Coffee shop will be open when we arrive and food/ bar opens at 1230 hrs. Mandi suggested we could order our food when we arrive. then there is a park with children's area just behind pub, so the kids and dogs can have a run around whilst we wait for food and have a natter. Mandi requested that any dogs are calm and not jumping up, tucked under table, (so mine is staying at home!) Kids very welcome but she recommended bringing activities for them as no pool table etc.. . Roast dinner is £7.98 and kids meal £4.95. Other meals and cooked breakfasts also available for £6-£7 per head, but with slightly longer cooking time as only a small kitchen. Midland hotel tel 0113 2822357 if you need any other info. Am really looking forward to meeting everyone. I have got an eye on weather forecast and unless there is a total white out, we will be there! Very best wishes from Chloe
