  5. Hi kel87 Think you have got it all pretty much spot on. For IELTS you need 7 IN EACH AREA. And to score and extra 10 points on DIAC you need 8 points in each area. this can snarl people up. I am also a nurse and in my IELTS i scored 8.5 and 9 in 3 areas and 7.5 in one area which brought my points down. I was 40 when i started the process last year which also reduced my points. however with state sponsorship with SA I should gain enough points required for visa. I think that IELTS is pretty flawed as an assessment sytem. If you have a look at other threads relating to this you will see that others have had problems with weird papers and examiners who can't speak good english etc.. I am sure you will be fine. You don't need a migration agent either. the authorities helplines and webstites and sites like this give you all the info and tools you need. We are waiting for results of EOI at moment and have done it on our own. Like you say, it just takes patience diligence and tenacity. you will get there. Think you can start AHPRA before visa too. sure i have seen other nurses report this. probably a good idea too as can be a bit tricky. REMEMBER! to ask ANMAC to send your documents on to AHPRA in your chosen state, they will not do this automatically, and this should ease AHPRA process. good luck. Keep in touch if you get time.
  6. Hi Emma and Graham! Would love to have look at your Adelaide pics. Hope you can come to Meet up 20 Jan? See above on thread. Not too far from you i think. Also worried about how our dog will cope with journey, he is a skinny rotweiller and not very courageous. think we will have to knock him out like Mr T on a team.

  8. Hi all, just a note to say thanks so much for replying to this thread over last few weeks. Been really interesting reading. We will plan a meet up with open invitation via this thread . My husband and I would love to meet up with you guys. Hopefully make friends to meet up with other end. so furthest north post I think has been TWHARLDALL in Cumbria and south would be Jasonkath in Northampton. I will look for a family and dog friendly pub close to motorway at a midway point. I suggest a sunday morning in Jan/feb. Hope you can come along!
  9. Hi I am moving to Adelaide with my family Autumn 2013, visa process permitting. I am hoping to network a bit with other families before moving. I am a nurse and my husband is an IT service delivery/project manager. We have 2 daughters 7 and 5 yrs. I have a positive skills assessment and IELTS academic passed. We are 4 weeks into the expression of interest process, and just getting our house ready for sale in the spring. I have read that if you group book flights with some airlines for about 10 people then you can get discounts. this is a long shot but am wondering if any families might want to get together to book and share the discount? Just a thought. Good luck to other PIA users. I look forward to hearing your stories.
  10. Hi, Wondering if anyone can help or advise. Me, (Nurse) and husband are planning to move to Adelaide in 2012 and my husband is looking for work as a IT project manager or Service delivery manager (IT). However we can not find his job titles on any OZ recruitment sites. . My husband currently manages IT projects going in to large priamary/secondary schools in the UK, he is also an experienced IT project manager. does anyone know what the job title for this type of job is in OZ? Also where is good t network and job search? Opinions/advice, gratefully received.

  12. Hello all, Am planning on bringing my family to Adelaide 2013. I would like to get my family out biking in OZ and hopefully become a one car family. 13. Hi all, I am currently researching Adelaide as a place to live when i move to OZ hopefully 2013. Adelaide looks like a beautiful place to live but am not sure what winter months are like? Has anyone experienced Adelaide in winter or summer? I have read a few threads regarding this but am searching for some 1st hand experience. Thanks
