  1. Hi looking for some suggestions we got our 190 visas granted today and are looking for a short term let for about 4 weeks around 17th September but are flexible on dates. We would like to stay somewhere central so we can travel both north or south to look for a permanent property as i am a bricklayer so not sure which area would be best to stay for any work. All the properties we looked at a couple of months ago all seem to be full !! thanks jonathan

  5. We fronted loaded everything on 4th Feb but have heard nothing yet only that from January there would be a go slow for all 190 till 1st july! ! Someone on another forum rang immigration yesterday and was told they hope to clear most visas lodged up until February by second week in July , but I will believe it when I see it as they never changed the 3 month process for a 190 visa on their Web site once even though they knew it was going to take months !!!! Anyway we all been waiting this long hopefully our wait will be over next week fingers crossed. Good luck to everyone
  6. It took about two weeks but i am self employed so maybe PAYE might be easier
  7. If you ring the tax office they will give you your tax returns or p60s for at least the past 10 years that's what we done for done to get our paperwork
  8. My daughters passport was due to expire in September so I thought it best to send off for a new one so I didn't have to change any details on immiaccount after we lodged. I did it with the check and send at the post office and received it back within 10 days.. You have 60 days to lodge your visa so you should have plenty of time
  9. Congratulations on CO can i ask when you you lodged your visa and was it for a 190 visa. We lodged on 4th February but still waiting for CO
  10. Someone had their 190 visa granted today they lodged on 28th January so fingers crossed it's still going ahead at the moment

  12. If you look at the website it's definitely for the 190 and 489 visas . I hope the website is right as I really don't think my nerves could take the wait until July !! Let's hope for the best:biggrin:
  13. If this is the case why did they change the processing times on the imm. Website last Monday from 6 months to 3 months
  14. Hope so as we got our invite for 190 visa a couple of days ago so if all goes well looking to go straight away
  15. Yes I know couple of people who have been sponsored that way . That's because they were already in Australia and they were already working like you said on a WHV . When you ring from the UK most firms can't guarantee that they will have the same contract for the next two and half years. I'm definitely too old for a WHV !!!! Lol. Hopefully if all goes well we would like to be in adelaide by July or August so can go door to door personally so to speak.
  16. Finally got 8 in the ielts submitted my EOI last week for 190 visa with 65 points so fingers crossed all goes well. Has anyone got any advise on what area to head for renting around adelaide area that would be near any construction kind of work also need to Consider a good primary for a 9 and 10 year old Thanks jon
  17. That is what I thought too as most brickies are self employed in england too. Thanks for all the info I guess I will have to hope to find work once we are there
  18. Hi im new on looking to see if anyone can help. I am 41 and a qualified bricklayer and concretor with over 20 years experience . I have completed my vetasses and received a cert 3 to work in Australia. I have also taken my ielts and got over 7's but that can only give me a temporary visa I have taken the test a number of times and keep getting 9's in L R and S but keep getting 7.5 in writing so cant quite get the 20 points I need for permanent visa as we are a family of 5 and ideally would like it for security. My question is does anyone have any information on anyone that sponsors as I am all ready with my vetasses or offer an employment before we go if we opt for the temporary visa. I have been getting email alerts from job searches for the past 6 months but dont seem to be from adelaide area mainly WA but bricklayers are no longer on the list. If anyone has got any advice I would be very grateful or any telephone numbers of any building companies. Thanks Jon
