Hi there, we arrived twelve months ago and it is only now that we are starting to feel settled. It's such a big move and I must say that for us the first year has been an emotional roller coaster! Hi there, it does seem to be true that the job situation isn't great. But I do think it depends how your particular skill is doing! My husband has been in work since the second week of arriving (he's a carpenter) but some of our friends have really struggled. I myself have just managed to get a small part time job in retail after working for a large department store for 9years back home. We have been here 12 months. Do plenty of research before you come.

Hi, I have just had my 2 children at the dentist today. I take them to port noarlunga, pay $43 per child and that's it for the year I think. They are lovely dentists, so great with children. Give them a call I'm sure they will advise you. Hope you get sorted and save some money....ps we are temp on a 489

Hi there.....I'm pleased it was useful for you yeah I totally understand what you mean! And all I can tell you is that there have been times here where we have been eating into our savings and you think oh no! What have we done!? But then you only need to take a look around see what a life we have here and it doesn't seem too bad! There were times when I thought have we made the right decision and have missed people and things, but life here is so lovely for us, and we seem to have such less stress! Christmas was so chilled out and I thought I wouldn't like it! But I really did, and because the kids are off school and the sun is shining there were no January blues to be seen! it IS a tough ride....but in my opinion a worthwhile one.

Hi, I think it probably depends on the rental to be honest. And how many people are interested, if it's been on for awhile (which not many seem to be) then I'm sure it's possible, but there is a lot of competition for rentals, well in my experience anyway x
