Hi,

 

Our son is looking for a good soccer club to train with, preferably in a central location (We presently live south of the CBD). He qualifies as U15 and plays pretty well. Adelaide United and Azzuri told us to wait until next season when he can try out for the U16 squad, which seems pretty inflexible!! We thought that clubs would be keen to assess new talent but they don't seem to want the hassle.

 

Any ideas?

Hi, don't know much about soccer here as we gave it a miss since we came here 18 months ago. Had a friend's son who played for Noarlunga in the first team and that seemed a reasonable standard.

I have a feeling that there are state trials for school kids coming up. Saw it somewhere but cannot remember where - I'll have a look around.

You couild have a look at Adelaide City - they are quite a high standard (which is reflected in the price so be warned!) - although it willl depend on them having space intheir squad as the season is already underway (trials are normally October time)

It all seems very regimented here, trails are held around October, pre-season training takes place in December, then throughout Feb and March for the season starting at the end of March, finishing September. Maybe get a list of possible clubs and if they aren't interested until the trails for next season your son can hopefully play for a school team meanwhile, as school soccer doesn't seem to start until after Easter.

 

Clubs that may be of interest are Adelaide Cobras, W.T. Birkalla, Sturt Lions, Cove, Noarlunga United, Cumberland United, South Adelaide, Seaford Rangers. I did find a really good list of all the clubs on the internet but can't remember where it was!
