Just back from a fab day out at Morphett Vale Miniature Railway today, it's been the best day we've had since we moved to Adelaide last month.

A great, inexpensive family day out, for $6 each (under 2's free) you get to ride on the miniature train through the park as many times as you like. It's open every second Sunday from 1pm til 4.30pm. Lots of picnic/bbq areas, sausage sizzle, play areas for the kids etc.

It was just great to be able to enjoy some sunshine in the winter, used to freezing winters back in Edinburgh! The ship with all our belongings doesn't arrive til next month so all we had was our tartan picnic blanket and the smallest coolbag in the park. Everyone else had camping chairs/tables/trays of food and were obviously well organised and used to such days out. Nevertheless we had fun, the only thing missing was friends - there were big groups of families and friends, we must have looked quite lonely, the three of us on our wee rug!
