hello all,

looking at previous comments on shipping cost, we are trying to work out what is our best option.

 

Of the furniture we are looking to bring, this probably wouldn't even fill a 20ft container. We don't want to leave it behind as it has lots of happy memories attached (especialy the childrens pieces). Question is, Does any one know of a cost effective way of transporting these items.

 

Any pointers would be really appreciated

Talk to your shipping company. They do do shared containers so they can utilise the space. It will also work out cheaper.

We used Anglo Pacific and had half a container, 500cuft. It cost us just over £2000 and only took 8 weeks to arrive in Adelaide. My advise to you would be to bring as much as you can, its amazing what you miss when you no longer have it.

Hi,

Yes I would recomend them, three guys took just one day to pack our stuff up and three guys here to unload, they even offered to unpack and re-assemble furniture and to take boxes away. Only thing we found damaged was Andy's beer fridge, but it still works ok.

Where in Adelaide are you looking at settling? We were originally from Harlow in Essex and have extended family living in Baldock.

We shared a container, everything was fine, door to door service with Doree Bonner, no damages.

25 boxes in total, mainly personal stuff.
