  1. We are a family of 6 and have a four bed with a pool and use energy Australia as our gas and electricity provider, both bills average $300-$350 a quarter, water is also around the $350 mark. My internet provider is foxtel and packaged with the home phone and Internet is $120 per month. hope this helps
  2. We had two last summer here in Greenwith, the first was an eastern brown on the front driveway and then a couple of months later a baby brown in the backyard. I am a lot more cautious now around the house
  3. I cannot think of anything negative to say about Fairview Park. It's a lovely suburb with lots of big Gums and open spaces. My friend lives there and often has koalas outside her house. Fairview Green shopping centre is very close and has a great foodland in, also StAgnes shopping centre is only a 5 minute drive away.
  4. Brand new, box never been opened, 1600w bagless vacuum cleaner. Airflo AFV 810. $70
  5. Hi Adam, I recently moved my girls from Redwood Park to Greenwith and am very pleased with our choice. It is a great school and the girls have been made to feel very welcome there. I am very impressed with the facilities and the three teachers we have are fantastic
  6. I thought the school kids bonus had been withdrawn?
  7. Hi Adelaide now, we are in Greenwith and use the internet to browse, FaceTime, you tube games and skype. With four kids all owning iPods it gets used quite a bit. We do have foxtel too
  8. I too am looking at changing to a naked plan as we don't use the home phone but through various internet searches it seems I am stuck with Telstra as they are the only ones to service our area

    ANZAC Day

We went to the one at Tea Tree Gully, my four kids were part of the Scout Honour Guard. Lots of people there paying their respects and a very proud moment for us

    Hi from NZ

Hi, I have family who live in NZ, Tauranga and Dunedin. They often visit us here in Adelaide and say it's very much like NZ but gets hotter and the shopping here is better lol. Beaches etc from what I gather are much the same and they say that although food can be more expensive here. Drink. Clothing and accessories can be a lot cheaper good luck with your plans wendy
  12. We made our own, bought the material from spotlight and broom handles from Bunnings, cost around $40
  13. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-sa/xbox+360/k0l3008842 its Australia wide but you can choose the area you wish to search in :-)
  14. Hi, I just had a look and there are quite a few on Gumtree
  15. How does the Telstra discount work? I'm a Telstra customer and haven't heard of this
  16. Hi, you can get them done in Myers, or Betts kids or a really good children's shoe shop is Carapella in Newton
  17. Hi, I do not know about Highbury primary from personal experience but have heard that it's a very good school. Highbury as a place to live is in my opinion an excellent choice, linear park on your doorstep and views to the hills are fantastic. Contact Diane, a mod on here as both her children went to Highbury primary and she lives in Highbury. good luck with the move wendy
  18. If a child is born here and you are on a PR visa then they are automatically entitled to an Australian passport and traveling with a child on a different passport to you doesn't make any difference ( or didn't 4 years ago when I returned to the UK with my daughter on an Aussie passport and the rest of us on English ones)
  19. As parents with 4 kids ranging from 12 to 5 in age we feel we have given them the oppertunity to have the type of childhood we had while growing up in the Uk. They are always out playing in the reserve behind us or riding their bikes with their friends, climbing trees etc( health and safety hasn't quite caught on here), as a family we find we do more things together come weekends whereas in the UK weekends were spent catching up with relatives and Grandparents. Everyones experience with Australia is different, for us it has been great and we have no regrets. we found settling into Australia relatively easy and having children makes it easier to make friends. It will always be hard leaving family and friends behind but most come round and actually enjoy their visits and there is always skype and telephones.
  20. Is there anything on your paperwork about the removal company that is used this end? We've been here a few years but used Anglo Pacific to bring our stuff over and they used Kent Removals this end. It may be that the removal company will contact you in the next few days to arrange delivery
  21. We are selling our leather sofas, great condition pick up from Greenwith. $400

    Child Care

Most primary schools offer an OSHC ( Out Of School Hours Care) not sure of the cost but I think it varies from school to school. There is also Vacation Care at the school where usually the kids get to do some pretty cool things
