which is better direct apply or recruitment agency?

Hi,

 

I am basically from India and planning to get permanent residency visa for Australia and i have a 7+ years experience of IT industry in Java/J2EE and my wife is having 4+ years of experience in staff nurse. She is a registered nurse in India and doing a job in well known hospital. I am also doing a job in well known company.

 

I was met an agent for getting the information on accommodation and the job opportunities in Australia. One job recruitment agent gave me the assurance of job in Adelaide so is there a good job opportunity for both of us? like i want to continue my career in IT industry and my wife also want to continue in nursing field. If there is a better option then please let me know.
