I would suggest the fact that the UK is no longer at the top is to do with the exchange rate. Interesting though that NZ has taken that place - I wonder why that is?

New Zealand has always lost many of it's young people who move to Australia under the Trans Tasman agreement. The reach a certain age and they move across the ditch as they see Australia as being a better lifestyle for them. Many New Zealand islanders are amongst the recent arrivals.

I wonder if there will be a reversal with the economic boom that's occurring in New Zealand right now? Their exports are up (especially dairy products to China) and the stimulus created by the rebuilding of Christchurch. They are forecasting parity with the Oz dollar soon.
