Hi everyone!!

 

Just joined the site looks really good. Just introducing ourselves. I'm Claire (35), hubby Saul (39) and 2 boys nearly 14 and 7yrs. I currently work as a learning support assistant in a secondary school and Saul is a taper. We have always wanted to move down under, so its now or never!!! Just in the process of filing out TRA skills assessment form and absorbing any info we can on Aus. We have settled on Adelaide as it seems to appeal to families and is just what we are looking for. Just wondering if there is any work out there in the construction industry, namely taping and jointing?? I know we will have lots more questions but won't bombard you with all of them yet.

My sons want to tell you all they are mad Cardiff City fans!!!!

Can't answer your questions (sorry), but just wanted to welcome you to PIA.. A great site, you will get loads of infor from it, and some really lovely and helpful people on here.. Good luck with your journey, it's tough, but i'm sure worth while (not there yet, 11 days till we leave this horrible country)...

Hi,

Taping and joining is called 'flushing' here. Not sure how much work is around on sites but I know there is a lot of private work to be had. Good luck with your visa.

Thanks for your replies. My husband said it was called flushing (I thought he was joking!!) I got that feeling this was a helpful and friendly site and I was right!!! Good luck Cara and Co with the move keep us posted!!!
