Coopers Brewery info?

Has anyone done a brewery tour at the Coopers brewery in South Rd?

I did a tour of the Boag's brewery in Hobart but just wondered whether anyone can recommend it?

What's with the people collecting water outside of the plant? I drive past and often see people filling containers. Is there a tap for purified water that people can collect...am curious???

there's a similar Charity "spring water " dispenser outside the WestEnd Brewery on Port Road. It dispenses up to 20 litres of the "Willunga Aquifer " water they use, which is a handy supply for people doing their own home brewing.

(not that there is much wrong with using your local tap water, provided you allow the chlorine to dissipate)

Does anyone know:

is the Coopers tap also "springwater ", ..... or is it Reverse Osmosis / filtered water?

the heritage tours around Coopers original site (?in Leabrook) were very popular.

- bear in mind, though...Coopers may still be a family business, but the new set up in Regency Park is an Industrial Scale operation.

If you are looking for old world charm, the adjacent property, Sunnybrae Farm (run by Enfield Historical Society) is well worth a visit. (-entrance off Gallipoli Grove)

-There is also a Miniature Railway Society off Maud Street

You'll need to check both for opening times

Oops that's the one I was thinking of. No idea about the coopers one. Must have been distracted by the thought of beer.

Dad and I did the Coopers tour last year and would definitely recommend it, from memory they purify their water and adapt it to what beer they're brewing such as Carlsberg which they brew on licence so it's as specified. We also did the Westend tour last week and although not as good is still worth a look if your into beer and knowing where it comes from.
