We first contacted our agent at the end of 2007. Started getting all paperwork together feb 2008. The Diac made loads of changes which effected us at every hurdel. We have now done our medicals and are waiting for our visa (last Hurdel) which seems to be taking ages again. We have 4 boys 7,6,3 and 5 months and cant wait to move now. Good luck with your visa hope it doesnt take you as long.

Hi Helene i have found the yorkshire thread. I think when we all eventually arrive in SA we should have a big meet to catch up as well.

Hi there, Thats the problem. In total ther are 6 of us. 4 say finalised and two still say oustanding yet underneath it states they have tests have been received. so im left in limbo and not knowing what to think. Everything was ok at medicals so hopefully they just havent updated the file. Cant wait to be there now. Good luck with yours.

We are still waiting had our meds on 4march. Two of our still say outstanding yet under say received. 4 have all been finalised. Dont know if they have been referred or not. Our agent is going to email again to see what is happening. This waiting and not knowing is the worst part.

I read somewhere that they are taking 3 to 4 weeks.

Hi i live in Leeds with my hubby and 4 boys. We had our Meds on 4 March and are waiting for visa to be granted. Hopefully leaving Feb 2012 if all works out. How far with process are you. Janice.

Funny that i had same problem meds on 4march. had to redo blood test on 11 March in Manchester. Hubby and two children showing finalised mine and other two children showing outstanding. Have not got a clue why they were all sent together.

Congratulations. We had our medicals on 4 March and rang clinic and they have not sent them. So now more waiting.

Yes you would have to re ro your medicals as they are only valid for one year.

Yes i think there a waste of time. We went to one in Leeds and were very disapointed. My OH is an Electrician not recruiter or employer there.

My hubby and i both have tattoos and had to have hep b and hep c .

And i STILL live there!!!!! Hopefully not for too much longer LOL.

Yes i think thats right. We are using an agent so we send police reports back to him to upload. Everything else sounds right.

Hi we have booked our in Manchester this is the cost £125 per adult for medical £75 per adult for xrays, £65 for kids medicals (no xrays needed) Bloods for adults only as children are under 11. £29 HIV £29 hep B £39 hep C we both need to have these done as we have tattoos and piercings then £40 for courier.

We still have to sell the house and the market is rubbish at present so alot depends on that but we hope to come and stay within the year of grant. dont want to spend a load of money varifying and then spend the next year saving what we spent if that make sence. I think money will be tight for a while but it will be well worth it.

Cant believe it we have been so laid back didnt rush to get Myles his passport only sent it off this week. Then we have been advised to renew mason and Mitchels as they expire in August so sent them off yesterday. Booked medicals for 4 march cutting it fine though. Did your Hubby get another job and hows things going.

had a call from agent saying we have our CO. Now waiting for my new born sons passport to come back so he can be added to visa then we can do medicals. Police checks been sent today. It suddenly feel real after all this waiting and i suddenly feel a bit scared lol. We are cat 2 applied Nov 09.

Hi all, I am at college at the moment doing my level 3 hairdressing. I have sponsorship for sa through my oh. We have been waiting since nov 2009 so hopefully now we are cat 2 we wont be waiting much longerfor our visa have not done medicals yet.I have 4 boys 7,5,3 and 9 weeks. We waited 8 weeks for our sponsorship to come through so good luck with yours i dont think you should worry you will be fine.

Hi all, im posting this on behalf of a friend who is thinking of starting the process of migrating to oz. The thing is her OH needs to be convinced. So what i would like your help with is what are the wages like for Joiners/carpenters in SA. Thanks in advance.

I have read somwhere (cant remember where) that it will take till 17 Jan to move everyone over to cat 2 then they will be allocated at co in date order. We applied November 09 so hopefully not too long to wait.
