  1. My husband and I are both doctors in our early 30s and moved to Adelaide 6 weeks ago! We'd be happy to meet up and show you around when you get here.... hoping to have settled in more by then! We are not cricket fans but have ashes tickets for next weekend... so thing might change!
  2. Hi sam, having just moved here I was in a similar situation. Initially I booked an air bnb in north adelaide for 2 weeks. It was cheaper than a hotel and allowed us to cook/ wash our clothes etc. I've now moved to a rental. For this you will need enough money for a bond (6 weeks rent) and then usually 2-4 weeks rent in advance. They wanted proof of identity passport and driving licence, references from previous rental (if available) and proof of earnings e.g. Visa/ employment contract so that you can pay it. Check out the websites domain.au or realestate.au to see what's available!

    Where to live?

Thanks- it's quiet so far- especially compared to North Adelaide. We were woken at 5am every day with the planes! It's on South Terrace between pulteney and hutt. The commute is excellent and really swung it for us in the end. We have lovely views looking out to the parklands and Adelaide hills... although they are making me want to get out of the city to explore it all!
  4. Hi Chris we are in the CBD on south terrace- where are you guys based?

    Where to live?

We ended up in the CBD- 10 mins walk to work!
  6. My other half and I have just moved to Adelaide from the UK. Please let me know if anyone is keen for a drink or two? We would love to socialise and get to know the city more! Fortnightly payday deserves fortnightly drinks!

    Where to live?

Thank you - That's really helpful. We have an air bnb booked for 2 weeks when we first arrive, and then hope to quickly get a feel of the city as we start viewing longer term rentals. Glenelg is definitely going up in my estimation, especially if it's so easy to get into the city!
  10. My husband and I are moving to Adelaide from U.K. next week and wours be grateful for some advice regarding where to live? We we are both in our early 30s and will be working as ICU registrars in a couple of hospitals in the centre of Adelaide. We we are looking for a 2 bed property in a nice area. Ideally we would like an easy commute to our work e.g. Walking distance, 30 mins cycle, easy bus ride. We would also like to be close to bars/restaurants/shops. We like the sound of North Adelaide/Glenelg/Norwood and the city centre itself. Any advice would be very much appreciated as we won't have that much time to house hunt once the jobs start!
