  1. Hey thanks for replying So heres the thing, I started my process for 489 skilled visa on Feb 2017, got invited, lodged EOI and waiting for the grant for 3 months now. I am planning to marry in the middle of 2018 or in the end. So, i ll be working on TR 489 at that time. Is there any way I can apply for a spouse visa on TR 489 skilled visa?
  2. Hi, i wanted to ask if a person on 489 skilled provisional visa can add his spouse after getting the grant? Thanks
  3. So, If someone has been granted 489 state provisional visa, can he add his spouse on it. Considering the fact that he got married after lodging EOI. How should he go about it?
  4. Congrats Jamie, I am on the same boat as yours. Do let me know when you find something on temporary basis. Ausie rent is quite high
  5. I think the criteria for citizenship has been changed now. For citizenship, one has to live in Australia for the last four years, with only the last 12 months as a permanent resident. https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Citi
  6. Congratulations!! So are you planning to stay in the same area or move around the country?
  7. Referring to your IELTS question, I dont think you will need to take it again. 887 only requires one year full time job experience and two years stay, nothing about english language. The second part I am not sure of. Australia’s official website of immigration might help
  8. If someone is arriving on 489 state sponsored visa. It will take two years to apply for 887 visa which is basically PR. My question is that how many years should the person stay on 887 visa before applying for citizenship? I have heard its two years on 489 and two years on 887. Can anyone confirm this?
  9. Hi, I applied for 489 on 21st August this year after I got the invite. No one has contacted me till now. Lets see if CO makes a contact or I get a direct grant.

    887

Im from Pakistan. Here, you can apply for a new passport if your old one has less than 6 months validity. Do check with your passport authority. If you can have your passport renewed in April then apply for 887 with the new one to avoid any confusion.
  11. Hi Adeline, I hear you. I am a project manager, passed vetasses, and got an invite from SA for 489 as my occupation was only available in SA. I was also planning for 189 or 190 but no other state made project management available. I took a chance and got the invite. I suggest you go for 489 as well. It is not compulsory to work as per your occupation. You can always do any other job. About the medicare, yes you would have to get medical insurance on 489. The main conditions of 489 are: Living in SA for two years (but you can travel all around Ausie land) Working for one year in SA (you can take any occupation) State wont insure you medically, you will have to get it from a provite company So, for me, these conditions are acceptable as I am not sure my occupation will be available in any other state next year. I suggest you do the same and take this chance. A bird in hand is better than two in the bush.
  12. NavinD, have you been succesful in finding a job? I am planning to come to south on 489 as well. Im also interested in the job prospects of people on this visa type. It is understandable that securing a job entails a number of variables but being on a temporary visa is, to my knowledge, one of the factors making the job hunt difficult.
