Even you try to contact with local MP it's absolutely nothing. They can't help if you are under processing time frame. One of my friends tried this and he showed me the email he received from the MP office.
What we can do, "nothing". Hopefully, upload all the documents and hope for the best.
I am frustrated not because of processing time, because of their way of work. I partially agree with the other guy, we all know there are so many issues going on. In terms of natural disasters, we have nothing to do. Case officers are human too, they need to take their leave, enjoy all the events no problem with that.
My one question will be for them, "when do they work?". They don't work most of the year, does it make any sense? We are still an applicant, just because we applied for a different subclass we have to suffer a lot. Sorry, I can't agree with this logic. I still remember last year, September to December we have been waiting every single day for a grant. There was no issue at that time, they did not process many files. They make their workload heavier and keep us suffer. In terms of bushfire, if someone living in Australia for a quite long time, they will know its happen most of the year. The other issue is, when we got our 489 in 2016 or before, immigration knew it, most of those people gonna apply within two years timeframe. They should have made some plan for the future, as of today I think they had no plan for this situation. 489/887 is not an issue, my friends whoever applied before, got their grant within 6-12 months timeframe. I think we all applied in a bad time when immigration has no time to look after 887 applicants. Hopefully, things will get better in some days but don't know when.
