  1. Will do! Good luck with it.......we both sell. Hopefully, you get that bit of luck this weekend.
  2. Well viewing on Saturday.........daughter and mum shown round with viewer from estate agents. Feedback was good! Went out on Saturday and on he way back phone call for he same viewer to comeback and look round again with her partner. Wife showed them round and they seemed very interested. Rang the estate agent on Tuesday for some feedback and they came back with that they have put an offer in...............wait for it £25,000 under the asking price!!!!!!! Needless to say we said no we are negotiable but that is taking the p*ss!! Reason for that offer is that would mean that they would not need to pay stamp duty. I know it is a buyers market but we are not willing to give it away!! They have not comeback with a counter offer.............Oh well onwards and upwards.

Can you not use something like Unblock-Us which fools sites into thinking that you are located in that sites country?

  6. You may have already found this site but if not it maybe useful for you. http://www.paycalculator.com.au/ I also have an excel sheet that you can use which calculates money left after the sale of your house, shipping etc. you can then put in your costs for the week and it shows how much you'll eat into your savings if neither of you are working. If you would like it let me know and I'll send it to you. Mis
  7. I'm an Aussie too Kris and usually I would say challenge all the way but I think in this instance they are asking for the good will of the bank as they have been long and loyal customers. Unfortunately, banks are a business and loyalty does not come into it from their point of view. I think if they wanted to proceed then they should look at asking for a reduced amount to pay.
  8. True banks are not very honest but in this instance it will have been in the contract between customer and bank that if they come out of the agreement early, a penalty fee will have to be paid. It does seem unfair for just 2 months and quite a large amount but if that's what they signed up to......
  9. I'm mot jealous...........I'm not jealous......oh! Bolloxs yes I am......lol Well done and enjoy! Mis
  10. That's exactly why we have never taken out another fixed term mortgage. We knew if we sold quickly there maybe a fee to pay but alas with the house not selling so quick we have just ended going on a higher rate and paying more each month. I think you will just have to pay as Jim has already said you have entered into a contract. Look on the positive side it would have been more if you had sold quicker :-/ Good luck with the move and enjoy your new life.
  11. Mark, If I wasn't in the UK I would definitely be interested. Good Luck with the search. Mis

  15. We were quoted £3600 last year by 2 companies. You maybe wondering why we got a quote so early and not moved............bloody house hasn't sold!!!! Anyway, I reckon it'll have gone up a little but I would suggest you get 3-5 companies round and then haggle with them to get the lowest price possible. Good luck, Mis
