  4. HI Emma, Congratulations on the pregnancy. I'm not pregnant, I have two kids and I think I'll stop there...... I do however meet up with a lovely groupe of girls once a week, sometimes more. All of us have kids. The oldest if 7 and the youngest is 3weeks, awwww. One of the girls is due her second at the start of December and she is lovely. My guys are 5 1/2 and 4 and the mums are 30's and 20's, there is a good few babies now, 1 at 3weeks, 3 at 1year, one at 2yrs and as I say, one on her way and the other kids are older. We all met on here and have saved eachother from going mad due to moveing here and staying home with the kids.lol we mostley meet at parks so the kids can run around and sometime at one of our houses, not everyone hosts tho. I am in Mitcham and a few of them with babies are in Glenelg and the rest aren't far, I know it is abit away from you but if you want to meet up then send me a PM. Everyone is comeing to mine tomorrow. Teri.x
  5. @ the fishers----Yea we have consided so many options now that we have decided to put her into Aldinga Primary for her reception year, as she starts that in January and if she is doing well or not happy then we will change schools. I dont like the thought of changeing schools all the time but she is only 5 and will bouce, she is very outgoing and independant but I dont want to push her too far also.xx
  6. @ OKMORRIS---- Thank-you, very kind works of reality. I am sure things will all come out in the wash, so to speak. No $400 isn't that much but for rent I think it is silly, I would much rather pay off my morgage than somebody elses. )
  7. @ Vikki -- thank-you for your honesty on the matter. I do understand that each school has their ups and downs. I would like to be sure that there is no bulling also as I feel if a child is being bullied that often has an impact on their learning and other aspects. You say there are children that swear and misbehave and I 'get' the fact that this happens but I want to know 'how do the teachers deal with this?' @ AJ Ford -- Yes people have mentioned Mypnga as a go so will check it out thanks. @ Tina -- Yes we have looked and looked at Mclaren Vale and Flat. The newer house that is available in Mclaren Flat is perfect but only has split-system air/con and with out situation it will not do and the older house we have also veiwed and it doesn't not have a garden. We have also seen the lovely big 4 bed in Mclaren Vale and that home is much like the one we own in Scotland but we can pay $400 per week on rent, it is outrages price for just renting, we would be better off takeing a morgage but at the moment that is not what we want to do,. But thank-you for offering you help. Has anybody got any veiws on 'Galilee Catholic School'???? Again thanks guys for your help.xx
  8. OMGoodness what a year it has been and we seem to of had our share of 'BAD LUCK'. Long story but wont bother anybody with it but I do hope that somebody can please, please comfort me. We have been liveing in Mitcham but have decided to move to Aldinga Beach and also need to put our daughter into a primary school. We have heard more bad things about Aldiinga Primary School than good, can somebody please give me thier honest thoughs on the school???? We were told that we can put our kids into Willunga Primary but the school is now zoned, as are Mclaren Vale and Mclaren Flat, none of which include pupils from Aldinga Beach. We have looked at getting rentals in Mclaren and Willunga but there is not there, (everyone has different needs). We were offered a rental in Aldinga Beach during the school holidays but due to the holidays I have not been able to speak to the schools, hence why I am in a mad rush to do it all today and tomorrow as the agent would like to have a deposit by 5pm on the 9th Oct. We really dont want to move our daughter once she starts Reception as the kids have been through so much already and our daughter tends to make friendships very quickly and bonds really with them and I feel as though she shouldn't have to keep moveing, she still gets upset when Scotland is mentioned as she misses her friends so so much, family also. She is in kindie at the mo and she has become very close with one little girl and it is going to break her heart when we tell her she will not be attending the same reception class as this little girl in January. 15. Hey every1. Can any1 give me advice on the following matter. Ive been here for 4 months now and been working at best, part time as a plumbers mate. I am on a 176 ss and was wondering how you get in touch with sa immigration for help with finding employment. I checked out their skills matching service but it says they are no longer doing this service. Also tried sending an email but that never worked. Although im not the best with computers. I have filled in the first update email they sent me sayin i was not happy with my employment status. Im seriously starting to think about moving interstate due to the lack of work in the adelaide area. So basicaly im asking do sa immigration even try to help in any way or are you just on your own. Any advice is much appreciated.

  23. Yea take documents like ur car insurance. Also worth while opening urself a bank account while ur still in scotland. we did it online and was realy easy to do. We stayed in a caravan park (brownhill creek)for a coupel weeks then had 2 stay wi friends for another 3 weeks till we got sorted. u should take refrences for things like if u rent back home or if u own a home ,paper work from ur mortgage etc, that helps when house hunting. we just moved out ourselfs over 2 months ago from the north of scotland. we have just about got settled in. if u ant 2 ask anything else message us back.
