  1. Hi, which council in South Australia if you don’t mind? I’m with Holdfast Bay and still waiting for ceremony hopefully there’s still one in November
  2. Interview and test: Oct 5 Passed and Application got approved on the same day. my wife also had her test last week and got approved right away. Officer confirmed our applications are linked. Now waiting for ceremony date. Anyone from Holdfast Bay council here? I wonder if they will still hold one this year or push it to next year Australia day.
  3. Has anyone been approved for centrelink parental leave pay after 887 has been approved? My baby was born Jan 2020 and 887 granted this June 2020. We tried to apply for the Parental Leave Pay but it was denied we didn’t meet Australian Resident criteria.
  4. Hi @Mirza, My baby is 4 months old only so CO only requested for GP letter.
  5. Hi @Nkc, In our case, the newborn passport was the issue of the delay of our grant. Here’s our timeline: applied: Feb 23, 2019 First contact:April 29, 2020 for newborn medical Second contact: May 12, 2020 for newborn passport -submitted letter explaining not possible to get passport but didn’t hear anything back. June 10, 2020: submitted letter from local Consular office to explain passport will be delayed indefinitely and urged DHA to consider our application. Attached passport picture for declaration. Granted: June 11, 2020 at 8am
  6. Ah yes baby is only 4 months so we only needed GP letter.
  7. The CO contacted us for medical and it also appeared in our immi account that health assessment is required. We were given hap id and asked to get medical clearance from GP. After we submitted all medicals, we got the visa for newborn including her bridging visa. Passport is not a requirement for the medicals.
  8. Finally got our GRANT!!! Email received this morning 8am for family of 3 inlcuding our newborn without passport!! Thanks to this community and informtion in this forum has helped us a lot in providing the information required to CO to try and approve our application without the passport. I think it was @Rupom who mentioned about a statutory declaration with the passport picture. Thanks a lot!! Yesterday we had her passport picture taken and contacted the local consular office and brought him the statutory declaration we prepared explaining that our newborn is the one in the picture and passport will be delayed due to covid 19. Luckily our Consul is very kind and he actually wrote a letter in the official letter head explaining our situation to the Department of Home Affairs and also attesting to the picture. We sent this letter last night to skilled support email including birth cert, visa grant for our newborn. 3 Emails received early this morning but no CO indicated, it looks like an automated one, but the visa grant was attached. Thanks again for everyone here for sharing your information. applied: Feb 23, 2019 First contact:April 29, 2020 for newborn medical Second contact: May 12, 2020 for newborn passport -submitted letter explaining not possible to get passport but didn’t hear anything back.
  9. Where did you have the stat dec done and pic for your newborn? I’m in the same situation where passport is likely not going to be possible to get in the next couple of months and we attached a letter explaining this but haven’t heard back.
  10. We haven’t heard anything yet as well but hoping they would consider our case due to current restrictions. If I get any response I will provide an update.
  11. Got a request from CO Julie for newborn passport today. Unfortunately due to Corona virus, passport application is on hold and can only be done in Canberra. With the travel restrictions, this would be impossible. Anybody knows whether they would provide grant without newborn passport? We will just attach a letter explaining the situation with passport and hopefully they would consider. Applied feb 23, 2019 1st contact: april 29, 2020 request for baby medical
  12. Thanks Shazi! This is basically what I got from the GP today. I was worried it needed more information.
  13. Our GP unfortunately has no idea what to write. She just wrote us a short letter to say no issues with health according to hospital discharge report. I don’t know if it’s enough, hopefully someone here can share other GP letter samples.
  14. We also don’t have our newborn passport yet due to Covid 19 and we included this explanation in the email. We got a generic email response about visa conditions and processing times. But the update from the CO and email today included the hap id, visa grant for our newborn, confirmation of inclusion in the 887 application and the request for medical through GP.
  15. The email was just to inform the immigration about our newborn, we didn’t asked for Hap id. We have updated our immi account when baby was born in January 2020, then found the discussion here about emailing homeaffairs to inform the change in circumstances. The medical is through Gp only and they provided the hapid in the email received today.
  16. Silent follower here. Thanks for the advice here to email skillled.support@homeaffairs.gov.au to provide update about our newborn and consideration to review our application. We emailed April 26 and got a response today for medical exam for our newborn. Just happy we got an update with our application. Keeping our fingers crossed everything goes smoothly from here. We’ve already submitted an updated AFP last December as the old one expired already I think. Applied: Feb 23, 2019 Family of 3
