  1. hi Fantastic news. We are waiting or an invitation too. Sent ours 24th August. Waiting is the worst thing! kathy
  2. Hi Roula Thanks for that. Is there much work availble? I know I will have to do supply first like here but do they tend to lead to something. I gather you are there now. The main question are you enjoying Kathy
  3. Hi We hope to go ASAP after hopefully getting visa, and selling house. Liked Hallet Cove as had lovely beaches and family area. Hollie starts reception in September too. we are living in West Wales. not far from the beaches hence Hallet Cove. Iknow we have to register at some time and complete a short course before bring able to teach in SA (1 day approx I think). I am sure I shall find out more as the time gets nearer it's just a case of worrying about each step as they come. Don't know about you but. Seem to be really busy collecting things then there are long periods f waiting and then it starts again. Kathy
  4. Hi Thanks for your responses thought agency was wrong. Another question I know I need to register as a teacher can I do this prior to arriving the same goes with supply is it done through an agency or do drop your CV off and hope for the best. So many questions. I have tried to navigate that web site and I agree it's really difficult. Are you teaching in SA now or are you like trying to get there? Waiting for an invitation at the moment. Fingers tightly crossed. Thanks kathy
  5. Hi Can any one help me. I am looking to find out what a teacher with 17 years experience is paid in SA. I have been a co-ord for many subjects and have had other areas of responsibility. I am having lots of different information. One recruitment agency told me not to bother as teachers salary is the lowest of the low. I am sure this can't be right. If any one has the right answer please let me know Thank you Kathy:arghh:
  6. Hi Karen Do you know what else we have to do to teach in SA have heard you have to apply and register first not sure if do it when we get there or prior to going there. Any idea? Kathy
  7. Hi anni Welcome. You do need a positive skills assessment first and I did my EOI and sponsorship at the same time but you do need a ref number from the EOI to put on the sponsor form. I am doing this through an agent which des make life a little easier. K Keep in touch Kathy
  8. Hi Thanks Geoff for that website interesting. Kathy
  9. Hi Forgot to say well done for being accepted. Didn't take long. Shall keep you informed Kathy & Simon
  10. Hi all My mistake I meant skills assessment not state sponsorship. I submitted my EOI and state sponsorship last Friday the24th August. I have a four year old daughter Hollie, haven't really told her anything yet but she is picking up on a few things. My partner Simon and I are busy down the gym at the moment trying to get fit for the medical as we could both o with losing a little weight. Just don't want anything to go wrong now. What part are you looking to move to ? At the moment we are thing Hallet cove as easy ish access to the city as that is where Simon will probably look or work. me who knows. Hopefully I want to get a job before we go out but I don't think that is realistic. It's great to be in contact with other families were are in similar positions. Keep in touch Kathy Simon
  11. Hi Kath I had to get my ss before I could apply for EOI and state sponsorship strange!!!! What job are you hoping to be sponsored for. I am going for teaching which is highly available at present. Keep as informed about your response and I'll do the same. Fingers are tightly crossed Kathy and family:biggrin:
  12. Hi Can anyone offer me an answer I have just submitted my EOI and state sponsorship to SA. Does anyone know how long the new system takes to hopefully accept sponsor and allow you to apply for a permanent visa. Also do you have the medicals and crb checks once you have applied for the visa or prior. So many questions madness! Just want to get there ASAP and start a new life Kathy and family:wubclub:
  13. Hi Nancy Like you we wish for SA. In regards to EOI I have n agent who will hopefully help me with that as soon as we start the process I shall let you know. Like you I will be looking for a primary position I have heard lots of contradicting info some saying not much work others saying it's who you know not what you know. Do you have a clearer idea. Think it will be a case of supply first and then looking. Do you know of any agencies I have only found the main one I know there are tests to sit aswell. O much to do. Nice to have someone in the same boat to talk to. There are three if us my other half Simon and four year old daughter. We have been looking at halett cove what bout you Kathy
  14. Hi Nancy I am in exactly the same situation as you. Primary teachers did go down to special conditions but didn't know it had completely been taken off for this year. Where did you find this info as I have found the new schedule 2 list and teachers are on there but I don't know how to go about finding which states are still sponsoring teachers. In regards to the 190 visa I am under the impression you apply to a state to sponsor you but you don't have to live there. Also I believe you give and EOI and then when you get a sponsor you get taken out of the pool. If you find any info can you keep me updated and I shall don the same for you. It's not easy process but I am sure it will be worth it in the end. Kathy
  15. Hi Thanks fir you reply bit the bullet and e mailed Australia myself onlybto find they had been waiting for documents since April and no one knew so it's a hundred miles an hour to get the extra documents now. Going in as a teacher but have found out if I miss the July deadline it's still ok if going for state sponsorship. This really is a roller coaster ride Ahhhh but I'm not getting off.
  16. Hi Just found this thread and think I am in same predicament wandered if anyone can help applying for 176 visa and am aware of new ruling in July I submitted my Sa back in the beginning of march but have heard nothing. Spoke to my agent who keeps telling there is a back log of application but not sure this to be true as we sent it well in time or maybe it is right. If anyone is in a similar situation please can you respond so I can feel confident that what the agent says is right or if you have received yours back already can you let me know. Stress levels off the scale at the moment Kathy aahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!
  17. Hi I am waiting swell I have been told it's july 1 st so not long to wait Kathy
  18. Hi We are trying to get to Adelaide. Just wandered if anyone knew what the job prospects are for me a primary teacher and my OH a call centre Team / floor manager. just wandered if it was a case of walking into a job or is it alot more difficult than that. If anyone has any advise of how to go about getting job please let us know. Thanks Kathy x
  19. Hi Can anyone offer any light on my concern. I am a primary teacher trying to get to Adelaide. I sent my completed skills assessment to Canberra in the beginning of March. I am still waiting to hear back from them. my agent tells me not to worry as they are inundated with SA due to the new ruling (even though it doesn't affect state sponsorship ) just wandered if others are waiting this long. Feel like ringing and checking myself if anyone has a number to ring or is waiting this length of time please can you let me know. Is this length of time normal?"????????? Frustrated Kathy:mad:
  20. Hi I am a primary teacher awaiting skills assessment to be returned (sent it first week of March). Just been informed there are special conditions for teachers now wanting to go to Adelaide also been told that ACT accepting teachers with SEN qualification. I have got my British Sign Language Stage 1 . Does this count? Also been told can apply for sponsor in one state and live in another New rules??????? If anyone can help me on sponsors or job hunting or any other useful info please do Thanks kathy
  21. Hi We are a family of three with a four year old daughter trying to move to adelaide. At present waiting for skills assessment to come seeming to take forever. We are wanting to know where the best places to live in Adelaide are. Our preference would be near the coast but we are flexible. Looking into Hallet cove and Aldinga beach but need to know if they are as nice as they look and whether they are a reasonable distance from city. Any help very welcome thanks kathy
  22. Hi I am in the same boat waiting for my skills assessment to come back. I have been teaching 16 years and wondered about pay rate and conditions and what is the likely hood of gaining a job offer first. Know I am asking for a lot. are there any other agencies you apply to or???????? Is it right that private schools are better??? If any one has any other info on primary teaching please let me know all will be useful. SA not taking on primary at the moment hoping they wil have a new quota in July
