Hi, I'm also in a similar scenario, arrived 5 weeks back with a pharmaceutical sales background over 10 years and applied for number of positions advertised in medical sales. Unfortunately, the response I got from many agencies was "Whilst you do have pharmaceutical experience overseas, unfortunately our clients require local experience for their vacancies and consequently we are unable to assist you in your employment pursuits". Some other agencies suggested me to shadow a sales professional who is already in the industry. But, without any contacts in the local market,I find it hard.

Appreciate if you can share your experience. Regarding driving licence, I heard that foreign DL can be used for 2 years. Started looking for primary schools. Prefer southern and western suburbs close to the CBD. Any known good government schools to share?

Hi Everybody, I'm Fahi and arrived in Adelaide with my wife and two kids (3&6 yrs) on 17 th Sep. Presently staying at a short term accommodation. Done few basic things such as applying for a TFN no and opening a bank account etc. Are there anything else to be done.

I've been in this industry for the last 12 yrs and worked various areas such as GP, Hospital and Institutional sales and marketing, presently managing a team of medical representatives. How about you and when are you planning to move.

We got our visa and planning to arrive in the middle of August. We are a small family with two kids. 6 & 3 Yrs old. I'm a Pharmaceutical sales professional and my wife is a primary school teacher. But she's not willing to work for some time as younger one is small. Now the question is whether to come alone and find a job, search for a good primary school and secure a long term rent and then bring the family latter or straight away arrive with the family and face the challenges together. I read the posts saying that economy is not doing well and therefore finding a good job is highly competitive and time consuming. I appreciate your advice.

We hope to arrive in Adelaide by July 2013. My elder kid is 6+ and we have to find a good school for her in Gilles Plains as we plan to reside there. I heard about Wandana primary School. Can anybody share their experiences or understandings Please.

How these suburbs for a family.We're a family with 2 kids 6 and 3 yrs, hoping to arrive in Adelaide within couple of months and we need to enroll our elder one in a good, probably a public primary school. I've heard about Vandana Primarry school in Gilles plains, Ascot park Primary school in Park Holme and Woodwille Garden School in Woodwille Garden. How about these schools are there any better schools than these in those suburbs. Thank You.

Hi Mari, Wijaya & Dulip Can u all give some information about the facilities available in SA for the 475 visa, from your experience. What I mean is, healthcare, equal Job opportunities etc compared to 176. I'm asking this as I hope to apply for 489, which is the substitute of 475. Appreciate ur comments.

Thanks for responding, Originally I had claimed 15 points for employment in the EOI. But Later on I was advised by my agent that I would get only 10 points for skill employment although I have 10 years work experience.Because pre qualifying work experience will be substitute for gaining the skilled level required for my occupation as per the new DIAC guidelines. Consequently, I'm getting 55 points and trying to change the SS to 489 to get the extra 5 points.

I received an invitation for 190 on 15 th Nov 2012. But I am unable to apply for the visa before it gets expired on 15 th of Jan 2013 as I could not get the required 60 points. now I have to edit my EOI after only the invitation gets expired. My question is, will I get enough time to edit my EOI after the expiry of the invitation or straightaway, automatically will there be a new invitation generation after the above date. If anybody has come across such a situation or could advise me on this, please help!. Highly appreciate your advice.

I am in the process of applying for a 489 visa to SA due to IELTS issue (Not getting 7's in each band after many attempts). But I heard with 489, It would be expensive to live in OZE as healthcare is not covered( family with two kids) and finding jobs all difficult since most of the employers prefer to recruit permanent visa holders. Highly appreciate any suggestiveness or advice.
