  1. We have decided on Hallett Cove to settle, found some good childcare centres and some lovely houses and we like it's got good transport links. Has anyone been to/lived in Hallett Cove? would be nice to hear your experiences of the suburb!
  2. Congratulations! Welcome to the January grant gang lol!
  3. Hi! Our plan was to go on a parent visa but we were advised after consulting an agent that the waiting times for parent visas are huge so they took our information and advised us that a skilled migrant visa would be an alternative for us, so this is what we did. Could it be that you could look at an alternative visa? Maybe it would be worth having a consultation with an agent who would be able to properly assess your options?
  4. Great news! When are you flying out? We go end of October! Seems so far away at the minute!
  5. Hello, the form is called IMMU13 form and available on the human services website! If you put it on google it comes up! X
  6. I got the form from the human services website. It didn't mention about anything else being accepted, im also taking the red book but for £25 i would rather have that aswell just to be on the safe side. Easier to get it while we're here rather than trying to sort it while in Aus. I will try and post a link x
  7. Yesterday we took the Aussie overseas child immunisation form to our GP to fill in along with him providing a letter so we can send them off to Medicare once we get to Adelaide so our little girl stays up to date with her jabs!! Also read on the government site that if kiddies are not up to date with jabs and records haven't been provided of what was given overseas by a GP you can't claim for certain things I.e child care costs! The medical centre are charging £25 though for this!
  8. I'm sure we will find something! I've had a look on seek etc and there are quite a lot of admin/secretarial jobs. Jamie has a job to go to so that will ease the pressure a little. Yes we have a little girl who will be 3 by the time we go. I've been looking at Kindy for her but hours don't seem as straight forward as here, they have out of school hours care so have to look into that! How old are your children? We want to go south so we're near the beaches. X
  9. Partner is a bricklayer - he is the main applicant on our visa and i work in the NHS so hopefully will find something for me! We want to go South Adelaide - near the beach. We have a few areas in mind but as were staying with friends when we first arrive, I want to go and have a look at a couple of areas before we make a final decision! What about you? Wow 20 years!
  10. Wow so not long!! We're flying out 2nd November! We get married in August so we can't go before then! Also will have to sort new passport and inform immigration of my name change so they can change my visa! Nothing's ever simple haha
  11. Thanks all!! Yes was quick but didn't feel like it while we were waiting!! Hope you hear something soon TK!
  12. Congratulations!! It's a great feeling when you get that call isn't it!!!!
  13. Thanks all! Haha yes Ladybug!!! Think were going to go with Singapore airlines! I am so excited, just so giddy!
  14. Visa granted!!!! Sooooo happy!!!! I'm over the moon and now can't sleep!!!!
  15. Hi, he literally saw saw an advert in the local paper, he called and got the job and after a couple of months his employer offered to sponsor him as his WHV was coming to an end. His employer was only a small company so worth trying all companies not just the big ones!
  16. My husband is a bricklayer and was sponsored on a 457. Everyone has different experiences. Just because it's hard for one person doesn't mean it's going to be hard for another.
  17. Are you going on a 190 Daviesfamily Adelaide? Great news about the teaching, I bet that's one less thing off your mind!! We have a 2 year old and we're hoping to be out there end of October, not booking flights until visa comes through. We've had contact from CO, requested a few additional documents so hopefully not long! We rent our house so we're moving in with my husbands parents from July to save some extra money! Everything in the house is ours so were going to start selling the things that arn't essential now and that money can go in the pot! :-)
  18. So exciting, i bet you can't wait!! Were booking as soon as we get granted our visa, flying out end of October!
  19. Hello! You pay the charge when submitting the application. You get an acknowlegment email and a receipt, these were forwarded to us by our agent. No information is given about when you will be allocated a case officer etc. We were allocated a case officer on 7th Jan..60 days after lodgement! Good Luck :-)
  20. Thanks everyone I very much hope so! We've requested copies of my hubby's Australian tax returns as requested so fingers crossed once we have those we will get our visa! Trying not to get too excited! Feel like I can't think of anything else though!! X
  21. We have been requested to fill it in by our CO. Our migration agent didn't ask us to fill this is as not everyone gets asked for it.
  22. Thank all. Co allocated today :-)
  23. Case officer assigned 7th Jan! Requested form 80 and evidence of aus work experience!
